Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Garmin StreetPilot C320 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (IA3AB07B1A97)
This is a 3.7V 3000mAh Li-ion cell for the Garmin StreetPilot C320, C330, C340, and C530 portable GPS navigators. It replaces the original internal battery when capacity fades or the device no longer holds a charge. OEM part numbers covered include IA3AB07B1A97, 361-00022-00, 361-00022-05, and 361-00022-07.
- StreetPilot C-series compatibility: The C320, C330, C340, and C530 share the same battery bay dimensions and 3.7V single-cell architecture. The connector pinout and BMS communication protocol are identical across these models, so one cell fits all four without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on StreetPilot hardware. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, held charge correctly at 4.2V peak, and cut off cleanly at the low-voltage threshold without triggering a hard shutdown error.
- Cold-start satellite acquisition after swap: After fitting this cell, power the unit on outdoors and allow it to acquire a full satellite fix before driving. A complete power interruption clears the GPS receiver's warm-start cache, so first fix after a battery swap can take 5–10 minutes. Subsequent power cycles will lock much faster.
GPS accuracy dropping at low battery on the StreetPilot C320
When battery voltage drops below roughly 3.5V, some StreetPilot units reduce GPS receiver sensitivity to cut power draw and extend remaining charge. This shows up as position drift, slower route recalculation, or the blue position arrow jumping erratically on the map. It is not a software bug or antenna fault — it is the receiver pulling back power to its RF front end. Keeping the battery above 3.6V during active navigation avoids this entirely, which is why a full-capacity cell matters more than it might appear for a device this old.
StreetPilot shutting off without a low-battery warning
The C320 displays a low-battery icon based on a voltage threshold calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve. An aged or partially degraded replacement may sag under the GPS and display load faster than the device expects, causing the voltage to hit the cutoff point before the warning has time to appear on screen. The fix is to recalibrate the indicator — run the battery from a full charge down to automatic shutdown once, then charge it fully without interruption. After that cycle, the device maps the actual discharge curve of the new cell and the warning reappears at the correct point, typically around 3.55V.

Frequently Asked Questions
My StreetPilot C320 lost all my saved routes and favourites after the battery swap — is that normal?
Yes. The C320 stores saved routes and some POI data in battery-backed RAM, and a full power interruption during the swap can wipe that memory. It is not a fault with the new cell. Before your next swap, export your favourites to a computer using Garmin MapSource or POI Loader so you have a backup ready to restore.
The StreetPilot took over 8 minutes to find a satellite signal after I fitted the new battery — is the GPS broken?
It is not broken — this is a cold start. The GPS receiver caches satellite almanac data in memory that is kept alive by the battery. When power is fully removed during a swap, that cache is lost and the receiver has to rebuild it from scratch, which takes 5–10 minutes outdoors with a clear sky view. Subsequent power-on cycles will lock in under a minute once the almanac is rebuilt.
The battery drains noticeably faster when I am actively navigating versus when the screen is on but idle — why?
Active navigation runs the GPS receiver at full polling rate and keeps the backlight at whatever brightness level you have set, both drawing current simultaneously. In standby or menu screens, the receiver drops to a lower update rate and the display may dim. To reduce drain during navigation, lower screen brightness to the minimum you can read in your driving conditions — on the C320 this is under Display settings — and the discharge rate will drop measurably.
