Fits Pro modely SVC 9020 BK, SVC 9020 RD, SVC 9031, and SVC 9031 BK cordless vacuums.
14.4V 3500mAh Ni-MH pack delivers full motor torque on carpet and upholstery cleaning cycles.
Slides into the battery slot with a single locking tab; connector aligns flush on insertion.
We bench-tested the BMS under sustained motor draw — no early cutoff, smooth voltage curve throughout discharge.
Remove the battery from the dock immediately after full charge; continuous trickle charging degrades Ni-MH capacity rapidly.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Pro modely SVC 9020 BK / SVC 9031 Series — 14.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 14.4V, 3500mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Pro modely SVC 9020 BK, SVC 9020 RD, SVC 9031, and SVC 9031 BK cordless vacuum cleaners. It slots into the same position as the factory cell and restores full suction power to the motor. Use it when the original pack no longer holds a useful charge.

  • SVC 9020 and 9031 platform compatibility: Both the 9020 and 9031 variants run the same 14.4V motor rail with an identical battery housing and connector. One cell fits all four listed models without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through full charge and discharge cycles on the SVC platform. The BMS held voltage under sustained motor load and tripped correctly on overcurrent — no unexpected cutoffs during normal operation.
  • Dock charging habit on these vacuums: Do not leave the SVC 9020 or 9031 sitting on the charging dock between uses. These vacuums apply a continuous trickle charge when docked, which degrades Ni-MH cells faster than cycling them through full charge-discharge. Charge to full, then remove.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

On the SVC 9020 and 9031, suction can noticeably drop while the battery indicator still shows charge remaining. This happens because a blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated, causing voltage sag in the pack before the cell is actually depleted. The BMS reads the voltage drop and reduces power delivery to protect the cell. Clean or replace the filter first — if suction recovers, the battery was not the problem.

Motor cutting out mid-clean and then recovering after a short pause

This pattern — motor stops, wait 30 seconds, motor restarts — is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. Restricted airflow from a clogged filter or blockage in the nozzle forces the motor to pull sustained high current, and the BMS shuts it down as a protection response. Once the pack cools slightly, it resets and allows the motor to restart. Clear the blockage and confirm airflow is unobstructed before ruling out the battery; if the cutout stops after clearing the filter, the cell is functioning correctly.

Frequently Asked Questions

My SVC 9031 runs for a short time and the suction gets weak long before the battery light comes on — is the new battery faulty?

Probably not the battery. On the SVC 9031, a restricted filter makes the motor draw well above its rated current, which causes voltage sag in the pack and reduced motor output — even with significant charge remaining. Pull the filter and check for blockage before assuming the cell is underperforming. If suction returns to normal after cleaning the filter, the battery is working as expected.

The vacuum motor on my SVC 9020 keeps cutting out after a minute of use, then restarts if I wait — what's happening?

That's a BMS overcurrent trip. When airflow is restricted — blocked nozzle, clogged filter, or pressed hard into thick carpet — the motor pulls sustained high current and the BMS cuts power to protect the cell. It resets after the pack temperature drops, which is why it restarts after a short wait. Clear the obstruction, then test again; if the cutout stops, the battery is not the fault.

Will leaving the SVC 9020 on the dock permanently damage this replacement battery faster than the original?

Yes. Ni-MH cells degrade noticeably faster under continuous trickle charge, which is what these docks apply when the vacuum sits plugged in between uses. The original pack suffers the same wear — it's the charging behaviour, not the cell brand, that causes early capacity fade. Charge this replacement to full and remove it from the dock; store the vacuum off-charge until the next use.
