Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Profilux E7341031 / E7348036 Series — 4.8V Ni-MH Replacement Battery
This is a 4.8V 1500mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for Profilux portable LED light devices. It fits the E7341031, E7341032, E7348036, E7348037, and four additional models in the same range. Voltage and cell count match the original pack exactly.
- E7341031 and E7348036 series fit: These models share the same 4.8V four-cell Ni-MH architecture, connector pinout, and LED driver input range. A single cell count or voltage mismatch will prevent the driver circuit from reaching full brightness — all models listed use this same pack format.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on a Profilux LED light unit and confirmed the LED driver accepted the battery without fault, reaching full brightness output at rated voltage under continuous load.
- First-cycle LED driver calibration: Run the light on medium brightness for the first full cycle. This lets the LED driver step up current gradually against the new cells before you push the pack to maximum draw, and it gives the Ni-MH chemistry a chance to reach full charge acceptance without voltage depression from the start.
LED work light dimming before the battery indicator shows low
Ni-MH cells drop output voltage gradually under load, and LED drivers typically reduce drive current once cell voltage falls below the driver's minimum input threshold — which happens well before the battery indicator registers empty. This means the light dims noticeably while the indicator still shows charge remaining. It is not a fault with the battery or the driver. The indicator reads resting voltage, not loaded voltage. If dimming starts sooner than expected, check that the pack is fully charged before use — resting voltage should measure at or above 5.5V on a charged 4.8V Ni-MH pack.
Light not reaching full brightness after fitting a new battery
New Ni-MH cells often ship in a partially discharged state and may have slight voltage depression from storage. If the LED driver does not see sufficient input voltage, it will cap current output and the light runs below full brightness even with a brand-new pack installed. The fix is a full charge cycle before first use — do not skip this step with a new battery. After a complete charge, resting voltage across the pack should read between 5.5V and 5.8V, which is within the driver's normal operating window for full brightness output.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my Profilux LED light feel warm around the battery housing during long sessions?
Heat builds up from two sources at once — the LED array generates heat at the front of the unit, and the Ni-MH cells produce heat during discharge, particularly at higher draw rates. In an enclosed housing with limited airflow, both heat sources combine. This is normal during extended maximum-brightness use. If the housing becomes too hot to hold comfortably, switch to medium brightness to reduce cell discharge current and drop operating temperature.
My Profilux light works fine, then suddenly cuts out completely — battery still shows charge. What's happening?
This is a BMS protection trip triggered by voltage sag under load. Ni-MH cells can momentarily sag below the protection circuit's cutoff threshold during a high-draw event — particularly at maximum brightness — even when resting voltage looks fine. The cutout is a protective response, not a dead battery. Switch the light off, wait 60 seconds to let cell voltage recover, then power back on. If it trips repeatedly, the cells may have developed internal resistance from age — a fresh fully-charged pack resolves this.
My Profilux LED light has been sitting unused for several months — now it won't hold charge. Is the battery dead?
Ni-MH cells self-discharge significantly during storage — a pack left unused for three to six months can drop to a level where the charger no longer recognises it as a valid battery. Run the light on whatever charge remains until it cuts off completely, then place it on charge immediately. This deep-discharge recovery cycle allows the charger to re-initialise the pack. If the charger still does not engage after two attempts, measure pack voltage — anything below 3.5V across all four cells indicates a cell has reversed and the pack needs replacement.
