• RH8753 family compatibility: These models share the same 18V cell configuration, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. Swapping the pack across this range works because the motor driver and charge circuit are identical across the production run.

This happens when the motor draws more current than the cell pack can sustain at its present state of charge. Voltage sags under load before the indicator registers low because the indicator reads resting voltage, not load voltage. A clogged filter forces the motor to work harder, pulling higher current and accelerating that sag. Clean or replace the filter first — if suction stabilises, the battery is not the cause.

Motor cutting out mid-clean and recovering after a pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When airflow is restricted — blocked filter, full dust cup, or a hair wrap on the brush roll — the motor draws sustained current above the BMS threshold and the pack shuts off to protect the cells. After a short rest, voltage recovers and the vacuum starts again. Clear the restriction, then check that resting pack voltage reads above 17V before continuing use.
