Fits Samsung Galaxy 5G Mobile WiFi hotspot, replaces OEM battery EB-BA426ABY.
3.85V at 4900mAh delivers full capacity for the SCR-01 cellular modem and WiFi radio combined.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with a single locking tab on the left side.
We bench-tested this cell under simultaneous 5G modem and WiFi load; the BMS held stable voltage through the full discharge cycle.
Keep the hotspot in a well-ventilated location during extended sessions — the 5G radio draws maximum power when devices are far away, generating significant heat that stresses the battery.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung Galaxy 5G Mobile WiFi SCR-01 — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (EB-BA426ABY)

This 3.85V, 4900mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the EB-BA426ABY cell in the Samsung Galaxy 5G Mobile WiFi hotspot (SCR-01 / SCR01). It restores the device's ability to broadcast a mobile internet connection when the original cell has degraded or failed. Capacity figure is sourced from the product specification — 18.87Wh total energy.

  • SCR-01 and SCR01 platform fit: Both model codes reference the same hardware revision. The connector pinout, BMS handshake voltage, and cell footprint (80.34 × 62.24 × 5.42mm) are identical across both designations, so one cell covers the full variant range.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on an SCR-01 unit under simultaneous 5G modem and multi-device WiFi load. The BMS held charge termination at the correct cutoff voltage and showed no false low-battery flags during sustained high-draw cycles.
  • Ventilation during hotspot sessions: When connected devices are far from the hotspot, the cellular radio pushes to maximum output power. Place the SCR-01 on an open surface — not a pocket or bag — during extended sessions to prevent heat from compressing the Li-Polymer cell layers.

Voltage sag under combined 5G modem and multi-device WiFi draw

The SCR-01 runs two high-draw subsystems simultaneously — the 5G modem and the WiFi radio. When multiple clients are connected and the modem is working hard in a weak signal area, instantaneous current draw spikes sharply. A degraded original battery cannot sustain voltage under that load, causing the BMS to trip the protection circuit. A fresh 4900mAh cell with a healthy internal resistance handles those current spikes without triggering cutoff.

SCR-01 not powering on after sitting in storage

Li-Polymer cells self-discharge slowly over weeks of inactivity. If the SCR-01 has been stored unused for several months, the battery may have dropped below the minimum boot voltage — typically around 3.0V per cell — and the BMS will block power-on to prevent damage. Connect the device to a Samsung-rated charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes before pressing the power button. If the charge indicator does not respond within that window, the original cell has likely failed and replacement is required.

Frequently Asked Questions

My hotspot keeps dropping connected devices mid-session even though the battery shows plenty of charge — what's happening?

This is a voltage sag issue, not a capacity issue. Under peak load — 5G modem plus several active WiFi clients — current demand spikes hard and momentarily pulls cell voltage below the BMS protection threshold, causing the unit to cut out even when the charge indicator reads mid-range. The fix is a cell with low internal resistance that can deliver that burst current without the voltage dipping. Swap the battery and retest under the same number of connected clients.

The hotspot battery drains noticeably faster when I'm in a weak signal area — is something wrong with the replacement cell?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. In a poor signal area, the 5G modem ramps to maximum transmit power to maintain the network connection, which is the highest sustained current draw the SCR-01 produces. Add multiple connected client devices on top of that and total draw can run 30–50% higher than in a strong-signal environment. This is normal radio behaviour — move the hotspot closer to a window or elevated position to improve signal and reduce modem output power.

The SCR-01 powers on but the battery percentage jumps or reads incorrectly after fitting the new cell — how do I fix this?

The fuel gauge IC on the SCR-01 calibrates its state-of-charge estimate against the cell it learned from the old battery. After fitting a new cell, that stored calibration is mismatched. Run the battery down until the device shuts off on its own, then charge it uninterrupted to 100% without powering on mid-cycle. That full discharge-to-charge cycle lets the fuel gauge recalibrate against the new cell's actual voltage curve, and readings should stabilise after one or two full cycles.
