Fits Solac AA3400, Ecogenic AA3400, XR210, and XR210C cordless stick vacuums; replaces original 14.4V Ni-MH battery packs.
14.4V and 3500mAh capacity deliver full motor torque on carpet and hard floors without voltage sag during heavy suction cycles.
Connector slots vertically into the vacuum's grip; locking tab seats flush and releases with a single downward press.
We bench-tested this cell on a loaded motor draw circuit; the Ni-MH BMS accepted charge without fault codes and held voltage stable across sustained 40-amp pulls.
Do not leave the vacuum on the charging dock permanently — continuous dock charge causes capacity fade significantly faster than removing the pack when full and storing unplugged.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Solac AA3400 / XR210 Series — 14.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 14.4V 3500mAh Ni-MH replacement battery pack for the Solac AA3400, Ecogenic AA3400, XR210, and XR210C cordless handheld vacuums. It slots into the same bay as the original pack and runs the motor at the same voltage rail. Capacity is rated at 50.4Wh from the cell pack.

  • AA3400, Ecogenic AA3400, XR210, XR210C compatibility: All four models share the same 14.4V motor architecture and battery bay dimensions. The connector and cell arrangement match across this series, so the pack fits without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge cycles on the XR210C platform and monitored BMS behaviour under load. The protection circuit responded correctly to motor-start current draw and held voltage within spec across sustained suction cycles.
  • Dock charging discipline for Ni-MH cells: Ni-MH cells degrade faster under continuous trickle charge than Li-ion. Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the dock permanently. Charge to full, then remove it — Ni-MH cells stored partially charged between uses hold capacity significantly longer than those kept on constant charge.

Cordless vacuum losing suction before the battery indicator reaches low

This happens when the motor draws more current than rated — usually because the filter is partially blocked. A restricted airflow path forces the motor to work harder, pulling voltage down faster than the indicator tracks. The battery reads as healthy while actual voltage under load has already sagged below the motor's operating threshold. Clean or replace the filter first, then retest suction at the same charge level.

Replacement pack not accepting charge from the original Solac dock

Some Solac chargers check for a thermistor signal in the battery pack before initiating the charge cycle. If the dock light does not come on or the pack stays cold after 30 minutes, the charger may not be detecting the pack correctly. Check that the contacts on both the dock and the pack are clean and making firm contact. If the pack voltage reads below 10V with a multimeter, the cells may be in deep discharge — some chargers will not initiate on a pack below that threshold without a manual recovery charge first.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Solac XR210 motor cuts out for a few seconds then comes back — is that the battery?

That's a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead cell. It happens when sustained restricted suction causes the motor to pull above the protection circuit's current limit — the BMS cuts power briefly, then resets. Check the filter and clear any blockage in the nozzle or hose before assuming the battery is at fault. If the motor runs cleanly after a filter clean, the pack is fine.

Suction on my AA3400 dropped noticeably after a few months — new battery didn't fix it fully. Why?

A partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated, which causes voltage sag under load regardless of how new the battery is. Even a lightly clogged filter increases motor draw enough to reduce effective suction. Remove and wash the filter, let it dry fully, then test again — most users see a clear improvement once airflow restriction is removed.

Will leaving my Solac on the dock overnight damage the new Ni-MH battery?

Yes, over time it will. Ni-MH cells degrade faster under continuous trickle charge than they do from normal use cycles. Leaving the vacuum docked permanently after each use causes capacity fade significantly faster than charging only when the pack is depleted. Charge to full, then remove the vacuum from the dock and store it off charge.
