When suction is restricted — blocked nozzle, clogged filter, or a tight carpet pile — the motor stalls momentarily and current spikes above the BMS threshold. The protection circuit opens, the motor stops, and it resets after the internal timer clears. Check and clear the filter and nozzle before assuming a battery fault. If cut-outs persist on a clear filter, the cell pack can no longer sustain the current the motor demands at 14.4V and replacement is the fix.
