Fits Testo 876 thermal imaging camera; replaces OEM part numbers 0515 0116 and 0554 8852.
3.7V 5200mAh Li-ion cell delivers 19.24Wh to sustain continuous thermal image capture during extended field surveys without mid-session power loss.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with a single locking tab; orientation is keyed to prevent reverse insertion on the Testo platform.
We bench-tested this cell in a 876 unit under sustained thermal logging and confirmed the BMS held voltage steady under sensor load without dropout events.
After installation, run a full calibration cycle through the instrument menu before field deployment — the 876 maps battery state during calibration, and skipping this step causes premature low-battery warnings on the first measurement session.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Testo 876 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (0515 0116)

This 3.7V 5200mAh Li-ion battery replaces the OEM pack in the Testo 876 thermal imaging camera. It fits the 876 directly, using OEM part numbers 0515 0116 and 0554 8852. Capacity is sourced from the product data — 5200mAh / 19.24Wh.

  • Testo 876 platform fit: The 876 uses a single-cell 3.7V Li-ion pack with a dedicated BMS handshake line. The connector pinout and protection circuit must match the OEM spec exactly — the camera's firmware reads pack status through that interface and will refuse to boot on a mismatch.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through the 876's boot sequence and sustained infrared capture load. The BMS held stable through both the detector initialisation current spike at power-up and the continuous imaging draw that follows.
  • First-use calibration on the 876: After installing this pack, run a full calibration cycle through the instrument menu before heading to site. The 876 maps battery state during calibration — skipping this step causes premature low-battery warnings to appear during your first measurement session in the field.

Testo 876 shutting down mid-scan during extended thermal surveys

The 876's IR detector draws a sustained load during continuous imaging — higher than standby, and higher again when the unit is writing images to the SD card simultaneously. An aged or degraded cell cannot hold the voltage rail stable under that combined draw. The BMS interprets the resulting voltage sag as a low-cell event and cuts power to protect the pack. Replacing the cell resolves this — a fresh 5200mAh pack holds well above the 3.0V cutoff threshold under sustained field load.

Testo 876 not recognising a new pack after the camera sat unused for months

If a pack discharges below roughly 2.5V during storage, the BMS enters a low-voltage sleep state and the 876 will not acknowledge the battery at all — the screen stays blank or shows a battery error on the first press of the power button. Connect the camera to its Testo mains charger for at least 15 minutes before attempting to power on. This trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold, typically around 2.8–3.0V, and re-initialises the protection circuit.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Testo 876 powers on fine but shuts off the moment I start a USB transfer to my PC — is this the battery?

Yes. USB data transfer adds a second draw on top of the camera's active imaging load, and a cell with reduced capacity cannot sustain both simultaneously. The BMS cuts out to prevent the cell voltage dropping below its protection threshold. Fit a fresh pack and confirm the camera stays on through a full transfer — if it does, the old cell was the cause.

The battery percentage on my Testo 876 jumps around or resets to a different number every time I reboot — what causes that?

The 876 estimates remaining charge by tracking voltage against a stored discharge curve. A new cell has slightly different resting voltages than the worn pack it replaced, so the indicator recalibrates over the first few charge and discharge cycles. Run two or three full charge-to-use cycles through the instrument before trusting the percentage readout — it stabilises once the camera has mapped the new cell's voltage behaviour.

My Testo 876 readings drift and the image freezes briefly during a logging session, then recover — is that a battery issue?

This points to a momentary voltage dropout under sustained sensor load rather than a software fault. When the cell voltage dips below the detector's stable operating threshold mid-session, the 876 briefly interrupts the imaging pipeline before recovering. Check the pack voltage under load — if it sags below 3.4V during active capture, the cell no longer holds sufficient charge density for extended logging sessions and needs replacing.
