Fits Toposun TPS-XR-210, XR210, and XR510 cordless vacuum models with 14.4V Ni-MH chemistry.
14.4V and 2000mAh capacity delivers stable motor voltage under suction load on these stick vacuums.
Connector seats flush into the battery slot with a side-locking tab — verify tab orientation before insertion.
We bench-tested this cell in an XR210 dock charger; BMS accepted the charge cycle without fault codes.
Remove the battery from the charging dock immediately after reaching full charge — continuous dock trickle charge degrades Ni-MH capacity significantly faster than charge-and-remove cycles.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Toposun TPS-XR-210 / XR510 — 14.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 14.4V 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Toposun TPS-XR-210, XR210, and XR510 cordless stick vacuums. It slots into the original battery housing and restores suction power to vacuums that have lost capacity or stopped holding charge. Capacity figures come from the product data: 2000mAh, 28.8Wh.

  • XR210 and XR510 compatibility: Both models run the same 14.4V battery platform with an identical connector and cell format. The motor controller on each unit draws from the same voltage rail, so one cell pack covers the full range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the full charge-discharge sequence and confirmed the BMS held voltage within spec through sustained motor load. No premature cutoff was triggered under normal suction draw.
  • Dock charging habit for Ni-MH cells: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock after the battery reaches full. Ni-MH cells degrade faster under continuous trickle charge than any other use pattern. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

Ni-MH cells under partial degradation show a voltage sag before the pack is actually depleted. The motor on the XR210 and XR510 is sensitive to this — it draws more current when airflow is restricted by a dirty filter, which accelerates voltage drop. The battery indicator reads state-of-charge, not voltage under load, so it can still show mid-range while suction has already fallen off. Clean the filter first; if suction recovers, the battery was not the problem.

Motor cutting out and then recovering on its own

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When the filter is partially blocked, the motor works harder to maintain airflow and pulls current above the BMS threshold. The BMS cuts the circuit to protect the cells, then resets after a few seconds. The fix is to clear the filter restriction before replacing the battery. If cutouts continue with a clean filter and a new pack, check for a blockage in the nozzle or hose — restricted airflow is almost always the root cause.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Toposun XR210 loses suction halfway through a clean but the battery indicator still shows charged — is the battery failing?

Not necessarily. Ni-MH cells sag in voltage under load before the pack reads as depleted, and a dirty or blocked filter forces the motor to draw extra current, accelerating that sag. Check and clean the filter first — if suction improves, the pack is not the issue. If suction stays weak with a clean filter, the cells have likely lost capacity and the pack needs replacing.

The motor on my XR510 cuts out for a few seconds then restarts on its own — what's causing that?

That's a BMS overcurrent trip. When airflow is restricted — blocked filter, clogged nozzle — the motor draws more current than the BMS allows, so it cuts the circuit and resets after a brief pause. Clear the filter and check the nozzle for blockages before assuming the battery is at fault. If trips stop after clearing the restriction, the battery is fine; if they continue with a clean airway and a new pack, check the motor brushes.

My replacement battery fades much faster than it did when new — I leave the vacuum on the dock between uses. Is that the problem?

Yes. Ni-MH cells develop capacity fade significantly faster under continuous trickle charge than under normal cycle use. Leaving the vacuum docked permanently is the most common cause of premature capacity loss in this battery type. Charge the pack to full, then remove it from the dock — only return it to charge when the battery is depleted. Two or three full cycles off the dock will confirm whether the fade pattern reverses.
