RoboJet Duel / Sensual — 14.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 14.4V, 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the RoboJet Duel and Sensual cordless vacuum cleaners. It slots into the battery housing and restores the vacuum to working condition when the original cell has degraded or failed. Capacity figures are taken directly from product specification — 28.8Wh total energy.

• Duel and Sensual platform: Both models run the same 14.4V battery rail, share the same connector, and expect the same current profile from the cell pack. Swapping between models is not needed — this cell covers both.
• Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the battery through charge and discharge cycles on a cordless vacuum test rig. The BMS responded correctly to motor-start inrush and held voltage within the expected range under sustained suction load.
• Dock charging habit for Ni-MH cells: Do not leave the RoboJet on the charging dock continuously. Ni-MH cells suffer capacity loss faster than Li-ion when trickle-charged indefinitely. Charge to full, then remove the vacuum from the dock until the next use.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

Ni-MH cells show a steeper voltage sag curve than Li-ion under load. When the RoboJet motor draws extra current — caused by a partially blocked filter or restricted airflow — the pack voltage drops faster than the indicator tracks. The indicator reads state-of-charge, not actual voltage under load, so it can show mid-charge while suction is already weak. Clean the filter before assuming the battery is the fault.

Motor cutting out mid-clean and then recovering

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a failed battery. When airflow is restricted — blocked filter, full dustbin, or a blockage in the nozzle — the motor works harder and draws current beyond the BMS trip threshold. The BMS cuts power briefly to protect the cell, then resets when current drops. Clear the restriction first, then verify the trigger does not repeat. If the cutout continues with a clean filter, check that the replacement cell's BMS trip threshold matches the original spec.
