Fits TCL R1, R2, R3 cordless vacuums; replaces OEM battery pack CS-KSB001VX.
14.4V Ni-MH at 2000mAh delivers consistent motor voltage for sustained suction across floor and furniture cleaning cycles.
Connector slides onto dock contacts with fixed orientation; locking tab seats flush against vacuum battery slot housing.
We bench tested this cell on the R1 dock — BMS accepted charge without fault codes and held voltage stable under motor load until depletion.
Do not leave the vacuum on the charging dock continuously; cordless vacuums on permanent dock charge develop capacity fade much faster than those removed after reaching full charge.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

TCL R1 / R2 / R3 Cordless Vacuum — 14.4V Ni-MH 2000mAh Replacement Battery

This is a 14.4V Ni-MH battery pack rated at 2000mAh (28.8Wh), built to fit the TCL R1, R2, and R3 cordless handheld vacuums. It slots directly into the battery compartment and connects to the onboard charging circuit. Capacity figure is from the product specification — 2000mAh at 14.4V.

  • R1, R2, and R3 compatibility: All three models run the same 14.4V battery platform with an identical connector and charge circuit, so one cell works across the series. The voltage rail and cell count are uniform across R1 through R3.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through the TCL charge circuit and monitored BMS behaviour at full draw. The cell accepted a full charge cycle without tripping the overcurrent cutoff, and voltage held steady under sustained motor load.
  • Dock charging habit for Ni-MH cells: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock continuously. Ni-MH chemistry is particularly vulnerable to trickle charge damage — charge to full, then remove the unit from the dock until the next use.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

This happens when the motor pulls more current than the cell can sustain at its current state of charge, causing voltage to sag under load even though the indicator still reads mid-level. A partially blocked filter is the most common trigger — restricted airflow forces the motor to work harder, spiking current draw. The BMS reads that sag as a low-voltage condition and begins throttling output. Clear the filter first, then check whether the symptom persists.

Motor cutting out mid-clean and then recovering after a few seconds

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is restricted — blocked nozzle, clogged filter, or hair wrap on the brush roll — the motor draws a surge of current that crosses the BMS threshold and triggers a brief shutdown. The pack resets itself once current demand drops, which is why the vacuum restarts after a short pause. Fix the blockage first; if the cutout continues with a clear airway, check resting voltage at the terminals — it should read at or above 14.4V on a full charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My TCL R1 loses suction halfway through a clean but the battery light still shows full — what's happening?

The battery indicator measures resting voltage, not load voltage. Under motor draw, even a partially degraded or filtered-restricted cell sags below the threshold needed to maintain full suction before the indicator catches up. Check and clear the filter first — a blocked filter forces the motor to overcurrent, which accelerates that voltage sag. If suction recovers after a filter clean, the battery is likely fine.

The vacuum motor keeps cutting out for a few seconds then restarts on its own — is the battery failing?

That self-recovering cutout is the BMS tripping on overcurrent, not a dead cell. It triggers when airflow is restricted and the motor spikes current beyond the protection threshold. Check the nozzle, brush roll, and filter for blockages before assuming the battery is at fault. If the cutout continues with a fully clear airway and a fresh charge, measure terminal voltage — a healthy pack holds at or above 14.4V under light load.

My replacement battery fades noticeably faster after a few months — did I get a bad cell?

Ni-MH cells degrade faster than most chemistries when left on a continuous dock charge. If the vacuum sits plugged in between every use, trickle charging slowly degrades cell capacity over weeks. Charge to full, disconnect from the dock, and only return it to charge when depleted. Running two or three full discharge-and-charge cycles after fitting a new pack also helps the cells settle to their rated 2000mAh capacity.
