Fits TwoNav Aventura 500, Aventura, and Aventura Motor GPS navigators replacing OEM part PL605056P.
This 3.7V 5200mAh Li-Polymer cell delivers full mapping and satellite tracking power for backcountry expeditions.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with positive terminal forward and locking tab secured flush.
We bench-tested this pack on the Aventura 500 platform — BMS initialized cleanly on first charge with no voltage regulation faults.
After fitting this cell, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow it to acquire a satellite fix before navigation use — cold start after power interruption takes 5–10 minutes for first lock.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

TwoNav Aventura 500 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (PL605056P)

This 3.7V, 5200mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original PL605056P battery in the TwoNav Aventura 500, Aventura, and Aventura Motor handheld GPS navigators. It fits the same footprint at 62 × 55 × 14mm and connects to the same BMS circuit. Capacity figure is from the product specification — 19.24Wh.

  • Aventura 500, Aventura, and Aventura Motor compatibility: All three models share the same PL605056P cell format, voltage rail, and connector pinout. The BMS handshake is identical across the range, so one cell covers all three without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Aventura platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, held the 3.7V nominal rail cleanly, and cutoff triggered correctly at the low-voltage threshold.
  • Cold-start satellite acquisition after swap: After fitting this cell, power the unit on outdoors and let it acquire a full satellite fix before starting navigation. A complete power interruption forces a cold start — first fix can take 5–10 minutes in open sky versus under a minute for a warm start once almanac data is cached.

GPS accuracy reduced at low battery on the Aventura 500

As cell voltage drops toward the low-voltage cutoff, some GPS units pull back receiver sensitivity to reduce current draw and extend operating time. On the Aventura platform, this can show as position drift or a weaker satellite signal count on the status screen. The fix is straightforward — a fresh cell at full charge restores the receiver to full sensitivity. If drift persists after a full charge, check that the antenna contact on the battery door is clean and seated flat.

Aventura 500 shutting off without warning at the end of a charge cycle

This happens when the battery indicator is uncalibrated against the new cell — the device hasn't mapped the new cell's discharge curve yet, so the low-battery warning doesn't trigger before the cutoff voltage is reached. The BMS cuts power at approximately 3.0V per cell to protect the Li-Polymer chemistry. Run two or three full charge-to-cutoff cycles and the on-screen indicator will track more accurately against the actual remaining capacity. After the second cycle, the warning should appear at least several minutes before shutdown.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Aventura 500 lost all my saved routes after I swapped the battery — is that normal?

Yes. The Aventura 500 stores some navigation data in battery-backed RAM, and a full power removal clears that volatile memory. Routes saved to internal flash or a memory card survive the swap — only data held in RAM is lost. Before your next battery change, export routes to the SD card via the device menu so nothing is lost on the next swap.

Satellite lock is taking 5–10 minutes after fitting the new battery — was the cell DOA?

The cell is fine. A complete power loss forces a cold start, which means the GPS receiver has to download fresh almanac and ephemeris data from scratch. In open sky, that takes 5–10 minutes on first fix. Subsequent power cycles warm-start from cached data and lock in under a minute. Walk outside with a clear view of the sky and leave the device running — it will lock, then stay fast for every start after that.

Active navigation drains this battery much faster than just leaving the GPS on standby — what's pulling the extra power?

Two things run hard during active navigation: the GPS receiver is polling satellites continuously, and the display stays on at whatever brightness you have set. Standby cuts both. Drop screen brightness to 50% or lower in the display settings — that alone makes a measurable difference to drain rate on the Aventura platform. If you're on a long route, use the auto-dim timer to let the screen sleep between glances.
