Fits Typhoon MyGuide 3000, 3010, and 3030 GPS navigators; replaces OEM battery HA652601BB.
Voltage 3.7V, capacity 850mAh — standard output for handheld GPS units; matches original energy density.
Connector type is proprietary Typhoon pin header; locking tab seats flush against the battery door frame.
We bench-tested this cell on a MyGuide 3010 unit; BMS engaged normally and discharged linearly under active navigation load.
After fitting this cell, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow it to acquire a satellite fix before use — GPS performs a cold start after power interruption that takes 5–10 minutes for first fix versus under a minute for subsequent warm starts.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Typhoon MyGuide 3000 Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (HA652601BB)

This is a 3.7V 850mAh lithium-polymer cell for the Typhoon MyGuide 3000, MyGuide 3010, and MyGuide 3030 portable GPS navigators. It replaces OEM part HA652601BB and restores power to units where the original cell has degraded or failed to hold charge. Dimensions are 49.16 × 29.96 × 5.09mm — confirm these against your existing cell before fitting.

  • MyGuide 3000, 3010, and 3030 compatibility: These three models share the same physical battery bay, connector pinout, and 3.7V power rail, which is why a single cell covers all three. The BMS protection circuit handles over-charge and over-discharge cutoff without requiring handshake firmware specific to any one model in this range.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the MyGuide platform. The BMS tripped correctly at the under-voltage threshold, and the protection circuit responded normally to charge termination at 4.2V. No false cutoffs occurred during the test cycles.
  • First-use satellite acquisition: After fitting this cell, power the unit on outdoors and let it acquire a satellite fix before driving. GPS units perform a cold start after any full power interruption — first fix after a battery swap typically takes 5–10 minutes outdoors with clear sky view, compared to under a minute for subsequent warm starts.

GPS accuracy reduced when battery charge drops below 20%

Some GPS units, including models in the MyGuide range, reduce RF receiver sensitivity at low battery to extend operation. When the cell voltage sags below roughly 3.5V under load, the navigator may drop satellite count or report position jumps even with a clear sky view. This is not a fault with the cell — it is a power-management decision in the firmware. Fitting a fresh cell at full charge restores the receiver to full sensitivity and corrects the accuracy issue.

MyGuide 3000 shutting off without a low-battery warning

This happens when the battery indicator is no longer calibrated to the actual cell chemistry — common with aged cells that have lost capacity through shallow cycling. The device's voltage threshold for shut-off is hit before the visual indicator has cycled through its warning stages. The fix is to run the new cell from full charge down to automatic cut-off once, then recharge fully. That single full cycle re-aligns the indicator against the real discharge curve of the replacement cell.

Frequently Asked Questions

My MyGuide 3000 lost all my saved routes after I fitted the new battery — is that normal?

Yes. The MyGuide 3000 stores some route and POI data in battery-backed volatile memory. When the cell is removed, that memory loses power and the data is cleared. Saved routes, recent destinations, and some preferences are affected — maps stored on the SD card are not. Before swapping the battery next time, export your routes via the device menu or note your key destinations so you can re-enter them after the swap.

Satellite lock is taking 5–10 minutes after the battery swap — something wrong with the replacement?

Nothing is wrong. After any full power interruption, the GPS receiver loses its last known position and almanac data held in memory. That forces a cold start, where the unit has to download fresh satellite data from scratch — this takes 5–10 minutes outdoors with a clear sky view. Subsequent power cycles from a charged battery are warm starts and lock in under a minute. Go outside, hold the device level with an unobstructed view of the sky, and wait for the first fix to complete.

Navigation is draining the MyGuide 3030 battery much faster than standby mode — is the cell faulty?

It is not a fault. Active navigation runs the GPS receiver continuously and keeps the display on, often at high brightness — both are high-draw states compared to standby. The receiver alone draws significantly more current when actively calculating a route than when the unit is idle. Reduce screen brightness to its lowest usable level during navigation to cut the display load, which is typically the larger of the two draws on an 850mAh cell.
