Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Tytera DM-UVF10 / TH-UV88 / TH-UV98 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LB-75L)
This is a 7.4V, 2000mAh Li-ion battery pack built to the LB-75L specification. It fits the Tytera DM-UVF10, TH-UV88, and TH-UV98 dual-band handheld transceivers. The pack slots directly into the radio's battery bay and connects to the same dock contacts as the original.
- DM-UVF10 / TH-UV88 / TH-UV98 platform fit: All three models share the same 7.4V battery bay, connector pitch, and BMS handshake protocol — which is why a single LB-75L pack covers the entire range without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through transmit-load cycles on the DM-UVF10. The BMS held the rail steady through repeated PTT bursts and tripped cleanly at the low-voltage cutoff without latching into lockout.
- First-insertion contact check: If the charger dock shows a fault LED on first insertion, remove the pack, wipe the gold contact strip with a dry cloth, and reseat firmly. The dock requires a clean contact cycle to accept the new BMS handshake before charging begins.
Why the DM-UVF10 cuts out mid-transmission on a new LB-75L
A new Li-ion cell ships at storage voltage — typically around 3.7V per cell, or 7.4V total. When you press PTT, transmit current spikes sharply and the BMS reads that draw against a cell that hasn't yet been fully conditioned. If the BMS sees the voltage rail dip below its trip threshold during that spike, it cuts output to protect the cell. This isn't a faulty pack — it's the BMS doing its job on an unconditioned cell. Run one full charge cycle before heavy use and the cutoff threshold stabilises.
Bar indicator showing one fewer bar than expected after installing LB-75L
The DM-UVF10 uses a voltage-threshold bar indicator — each bar maps to a fixed voltage window. A new pack fresh from storage sits at roughly 7.4V, which can read as one bar short of full on the display. This is not a capacity problem. Charge the pack to full (the dock LED goes green and the radio shows a full bar stack at approximately 8.4V) and the indicator will read correctly from that point forward.

Frequently Asked Questions
My DM-UVF10 drops to low transmit power halfway through a shift — is the LB-75L pack failing?
This is voltage sag under sustained RF output, not a failing pack. The radio's firmware steps down TX power when the voltage rail drops below a set threshold to protect the final amplifier stage. It happens most often during back-to-back transmissions without a receive gap to let the cell recover. Let the radio sit in receive mode for 30–60 seconds and check whether TX power restores — if it does, the pack is fine and the cell just needs a brief recovery window between heavy transmission bursts.
The charger dock blinks a fault LED continuously and never starts charging the new LB-75L — what's happening?
The dock won't begin a charge cycle if the pack voltage is below its acceptance threshold, which can happen when a new cell has sat in storage for an extended period. Remove the pack, wipe both the battery contact strip and the dock contacts with a dry cloth to clear any film, then reseat the pack with firm, even pressure. If the fault LED persists, the pack's BMS may be in a deep-discharge lockout — most docks that support recovery mode will exit the fault state and begin a trickle charge after 60–90 seconds; watch for the LED to shift from red to amber.
The LB-75L pack is inserted correctly but the dock never transitions to a full-charge green LED — what causes that?
This is usually a cell impedance mismatch between the new pack and the dock's charge termination logic. The dock monitors charge current and voltage together; if cell impedance causes the current to taper before the pack reaches full terminal voltage, the dock interprets it as complete and holds amber instead of switching to green. Remove the pack, let it rest for five minutes, then reinsert — a second charge attempt after the BMS resets its internal state will typically complete the cycle and reach green at approximately 8.4V.
