Fits Vivo A97 5G and PFTM10 model; replaces OEM battery BLP923.
3.87V and 4850mAh Li-Polymer cell delivers full charge capacity for daily smartphone use.
Connector type is standard Vivo flat-pin; slides into slot with locking tab engagement confirmed.
We bench-tested against a degraded OEM pack; BMS accepted charge current on first cycle, fuel gauge IC initialized normally.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging runs.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Vivo A97 5G / PFTM10 — 3.87V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BLP923)

The BLP923 is a 4850mAh lithium-polymer cell rated at 3.87V nominal, built as a direct cell replacement for the Vivo A97 5G (model PFTM10). It fits the original battery bay without modification. Capacity is 18.77Wh — matching the OEM specification.

  • A97 5G / PFTM10 fit: Both model designations reference the same hardware platform. The battery connector, BMS handshake pinout, and physical dimensions (94.20 × 65.00 × 4.30mm) are identical across both variants, so one cell covers the full range.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the A97 5G platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the charge IC completed a full CC/CV cycle to 4.35V with no thermal interruption.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before the coulomb counter locks in its reference points. Skipping this step causes percentage drift in the first week.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the A97 5G after a cell swap

This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's internal resistance curve. The new cell's voltage drops faster under 5G modem and display load than the IC expects. The phone interprets this as a critically low voltage event and triggers an emergency shutdown — even though the cell still has charge. One full discharge below 5% followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the coulomb counter and resolves this.

USB-PD fast charge not activating on the first cycle after replacement

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the A97 5G's charge IC sometimes withholds fast charge negotiation until it has verified the new BMS is responding within expected voltage and temperature thresholds. This is a protection behaviour, not a fault. Charge the phone once at standard speed using the original cable and adapter. Fast charge protocol re-enables automatically on the second cycle once the charge IC has logged a clean baseline from the new cell.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Vivo A97 5G shut off at 28% right after I put the new battery in — is the cell faulty?

It's not a faulty cell. The fuel gauge IC is still running on the discharge curve it learned from the old battery. When the new cell's voltage dips under 5G modem load, the IC misreads it as a critical low-voltage event and forces a shutdown. Run one full uninterrupted discharge down below 5%, then charge straight to 100% without interruption. That resets the coulomb counter reference and the shutdowns stop.

The battery percentage on my A97 5G keeps jumping around — it went from 60% to 45% in two minutes without me doing anything heavy.

Erratic percentage readings after a cell swap mean the fuel gauge IC is actively recalibrating its internal model against the new cell's impedance profile. It hasn't finished mapping the new discharge curve yet. Let the phone complete two to three full discharge-charge cycles at standard charge rate before drawing conclusions. The readings stabilise once the IC has enough data points to anchor its estimate — usually by the third cycle.

My A97 5G won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before I installed it.

Lithium-polymer cells self-discharge in storage, and if the BLP923 dropped below roughly 2.5V per cell during storage, the BMS has entered a lockout state to prevent damage. Connect the phone to a known-good charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button — the charge IC will trickle current into the cell until the BMS exits lockout and allows normal charging to resume. If the charge indicator still hasn't appeared after 30 minutes, try a different USB-C cable rated for charging, not just data transfer.
