Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Vivo IQOO 8 Series — 7.74V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (B-R8)
This 7.74V, 2150mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original B-R8 battery in the Vivo IQOO 8, IQOO 8 5G, and V2136A. It restores full device function — processor, display, 5G modem, and all onboard systems. Dimensions are 83.30 x 63.50 x 5.60mm, matching the original footprint.
- IQOO 8 and V2136A compatibility: These three models share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The B-R8 part number covers all three — no adapter or modification needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on the IQOO 8 platform. The BMS accepted the new cell without error flags, and the charge IC held within spec across both standard and fast-charge current profiles.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's actual discharge curve before high-current fast charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state. Skip this step and percentage readings will drift.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on a replacement cell
The IQOO 8's fuel gauge IC stores a charge curve calibrated to the original cell. A new cell with a different internal resistance profile hits a voltage cliff at a different state of charge than the stored curve expects. Under high load — 5G modem activity or display at full brightness — the cell voltage drops faster than the IC predicts, and the phone cuts power before the reported percentage reaches zero. One full discharge-charge cycle with fast charging disabled resets the coulomb counter against the new cell's actual curve. After that cycle, shutdowns at 20–30% stop.
USB-PD fast charge not triggering on first cycle after a cell swap
The IQOO 8 charge IC checks BMS cell voltage before handing off to the fast-charge protocol. On a new cell fresh from storage, resting voltage is typically around 3.7–3.8V per cell — within spec, but the IC may treat the uncalibrated cell as an edge case and fall back to standard 5V charging. This is not a fault with the battery or charger. Letting the phone complete one full standard charge cycle re-establishes the handshake, and fast charging resumes on the next plug-in. Confirm fast charge is active by checking the lock screen indicator — it should read "Flash Charging" at 5V/4A or higher.

Frequently Asked Questions
My IQOO 8 powers off at around 25% after fitting the new B-R8 battery — is the cell faulty?
The cell is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC is still running the discharge curve from your old battery, so it misjudges the voltage cliff on the new cell. Under 5G modem or screen load, voltage drops faster than the IC expects and it triggers a protective shutdown. Run one full discharge-charge cycle with fast charging turned off in the settings — this forces the coulomb counter to remap against the new cell. After that single cycle, the premature shutdowns stop.
The phone is noticeably warm near the battery compartment while charging after the replacement — is something wrong?
A new Li-Polymer cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell. The charge IC pushes current into higher resistance on early cycles, which generates more heat than you'd normally notice. This is expected behaviour and settles after three to five charge cycles as the cell's impedance drops. If the phone stays warm past cycle five or the charger brick also runs hot, check that the USB cable is rated for the IQOO 8's flash charge current — a marginal cable forces the charge IC to work harder.
My IQOO 8 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in storage before I installed it — how do I recover it?
A cell stored for several months can drop below 2.5V per cell, which triggers BMS lockout to prevent damage. The phone will not respond to a normal boot press. Connect it to the original Vivo flash charger and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing anything — the BMS trickle-charges the cell back above the 2.5V recovery threshold before allowing a full charge. Once the screen shows a charge indicator, the BMS has cleared lockout and normal charging resumes. Do not attempt a boot press during this recovery window.
