Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

TomTom Go 610 / Go Essential — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (P6 / AHA1111107)
This 3.7V, 1100mAh Li-ion cell replaces the factory battery in the TomTom Go 610, Go Essential, Navigator 6, and 4FA60 portable GPS units. It fits directly into the original battery bay and connects to the same management circuit. Capacity matches the product data spec at 4.07Wh.
- Go 610 and Go Essential compatibility: These models share the same battery bay dimensions (53 × 34 × 4mm), connector pinout, and 3.7V nominal voltage rail. The BMS in each unit reads cell state of charge over the same two-wire interface, so one cell covers the full list without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a Go 610 unit. The BMS accepted the cell, reported charge state accurately across the full range, and did not trigger overcurrent or overvoltage faults during testing.
- Cold-start satellite acquisition after swap: After fitting this cell, power the GPS on outdoors and let it run until it acquires a satellite fix before driving. A full power interruption clears the ephemeris data the receiver holds in memory, so the first fix after a battery swap is a cold start — expect 5 to 10 minutes outdoors versus under a minute for a warm start on a unit that has been used recently.
GPS accuracy reduced at low battery on the Go 610
The Go 610's GPS receiver draws continuous power to maintain satellite tracking. When cell voltage drops toward the low threshold, the device scales back receiver sensitivity as a power-saving measure. This shows up as position drift or a reduced satellite count on the signal bar — not a hardware fault. Keeping the cell above 3.5V during navigation maintains full receiver sensitivity and stable position fix.
Go 610 shuts off without warning before the battery indicator reaches empty
When an aged battery is replaced with a new cell, the device's fuel gauge is still calibrated to the degraded capacity curve of the old cell. This mismatch means the on-screen indicator may show one or two bars remaining when the unit cuts out. Run two or three full charge-to-discharge cycles on the new cell so the fuel gauge recalibrates to the actual capacity. After recalibration, the low-battery warning will fire at the correct voltage — around 3.4V — giving adequate notice before shutdown.

Frequently Asked Questions
My TomTom Go 610 lost all my saved routes after I swapped the battery — is that normal?
Yes. The Go 610 stores some navigation data in memory that loses power the moment the battery is removed. Routes and recent destinations held in volatile memory are cleared on a full power interruption. Saved favourites stored in flash memory usually survive the swap. After fitting the new cell, check Settings → My Routes — anything stored to the device's internal flash will still be there.
The Go 610 is shutting off suddenly even though the battery bar still shows charge — what's happening?
The fuel gauge is still reading the old cell's degraded capacity curve, so the on-screen indicator is out of sync with the actual cell voltage. The device hits its low-voltage cutoff before the display reaches the empty indicator. Run two full charge cycles — charge to 100%, use until the unit shuts itself off, then charge back to 100%. After two cycles the gauge recalibrates to the new cell and the warning fires at the correct point.
Satellite lock is taking 5 to 10 minutes after fitting the replacement battery — is the GPS faulty?
No — this is a cold start. Removing the battery clears the ephemeris data the receiver stores in memory. Without that data the GPS has to download fresh satellite positioning information from scratch, which takes 5 to 10 minutes in open sky. Drive to an open area away from tall buildings, leave the device powered on, and wait for the fix to complete. Every subsequent start will be a warm start — under a minute — as long as the battery stays in the unit.
