Fits Casper VIA V6 and VIA V6X smartphones with original battery part designation CS-WKR004SL.
Voltage measures 3.8V; capacity is 3000mAh (11.4Wh) lithium-polymer, matching OEM cell discharge curve.
Connector slot and polarity match factory housing — physical fit requires no modification or adapter.
Bench testing confirmed BMS handshake on insertion; fuel gauge IC accepted new cell on cold boot.
On first charge after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against this cell's discharge curve before USB-PD pushes current into an uncalibrated BMS.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Casper VIA V6 / VIA V6X — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery

This 3.8V 3000mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original battery in the Casper VIA V6 and VIA V6X smartphones. It fits both models directly, restoring capacity lost to cell age, heat damage, or heavy daily use. Rated at 11.4Wh with physical dimensions of 86.50 × 65.80 × 4.10mm.

  • VIA V6 and V6X compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and charge IC voltage rail at 3.8V nominal. One cell covers both variants without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the VIA V6 platform. The BMS accepted the charge IC handshake cleanly, held voltage above 3.5V under display and modem load, and tripped protection correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
  • First-cycle fast charge caution: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve before high current is pushed into an uncalibrated cell.

Why the VIA V6 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The fuel gauge IC on the VIA V6 stores a learned discharge curve from the old cell. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve no longer matches the actual voltage-to-capacity relationship. The phone reads voltage correctly but maps it to the wrong percentage. One full discharge down to auto-shutdown followed by a complete charge to 100% resets the coulomb counter and forces the IC to relearn the new cell's curve.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the phone's display or modem draws a current spike and the cell voltage drops sharply under load — a voltage cliff the fuel gauge did not anticipate. The phone reads 25% but the cell cannot sustain voltage above the system's minimum threshold, triggering an immediate shutdown. It is not a faulty cell; it is an uncalibrated gauge. Run two full discharge-charge cycles and the shutdowns stop once the fuel gauge IC has accurate data. If shutdowns continue past three full cycles, check that resting cell voltage reads above 3.7V with a multimeter before charging.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Casper VIA V6 won't turn on after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is the cell dead?

Probably not dead, but the BMS has locked out below its minimum cell voltage, typically around 2.5V per cell after deep self-discharge in storage. Plug into a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power on. The charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell to bring voltage above the BMS re-enable threshold before the phone will respond. If the charging indicator appears within 45 minutes, the cell is recovering normally.

Fast charging stopped working after I installed this battery — the phone only slow-charges now.

On the first charge cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC often falls back to standard 5V charging because it has not yet confirmed the new cell's impedance profile. This is normal behaviour. Complete one full charge at standard speed, then one full discharge, and reconnect the charger — the fast charge protocol should re-engage on the second cycle. If it still does not activate, check that the USB cable supports the required current rating and try a different USB-PD wall adapter.

The battery percentage on my VIA V6X is jumping around erratically — it reads 60%, drops to 40%, then jumps back up.

The fuel gauge IC is recalibrating its internal model against the new cell's discharge curve, and the mismatch causes erratic percentage readings. This is not a hardware fault. Run the phone from 100% down to automatic shutdown without interruption — no top-up charges mid-cycle — then charge fully to 100% in one go. After two complete cycles like this, the coulomb counter stabilises and percentage readings settle to within a few percent of actual remaining capacity.
