Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Cyrus CS20 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CYR10022)
This is a 3.7V, 3400mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Cyrus CS20 smartphone. It fits directly in place of the original CYR10022 cell. Use this when the original battery no longer holds a useful charge or the phone shuts down unexpectedly under load.
- CS20 fitment: The CS20 uses a fixed connector pinout and a specific cell footprint (69.00 × 47.70 × 10.40mm). This replacement matches both, so the BMS handshake between the charge IC and the cell completes without errors on first boot.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the CS20 platform. The BMS accepted the cell, charge termination triggered correctly at 4.2V, and no thermal events occurred during the fast-charge phase.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting this cell, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. The CS20's fuel gauge IC is calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — one slow cycle lets it remap against the new cell before fast charging pushes higher current into an uncalibrated state.
Why the CS20 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The CS20 uses a coulomb counter in its fuel gauge IC to estimate state of charge. That counter is calibrated against the discharge curve of the original cell. When a new cell goes in, the stored curve no longer matches actual cell behaviour, so the percentage readout drifts — sometimes by 15–20%. One complete discharge to cutoff followed by a full charge to 4.2V resets the reference point. After that cycle, percentage accuracy returns to normal.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the modem or display draws a high current pulse and the cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold faster than the fuel gauge expects. The CS20's fuel gauge still shows 20–30% because it hasn't updated, but the actual cell voltage has already sagged past 3.2V under load. The fix is to complete two full discharge-charge cycles so the coulomb counter can build an accurate low-end voltage map. If shutdowns continue past three cycles, check that the battery connector is fully seated — a partially connected cell increases internal resistance and worsens voltage sag under load.

Frequently Asked Questions
The CS20 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat unused for a few months — is it dead?
It is almost certainly in BMS lockout. If the cell self-discharged below 2.5V during storage, the BMS shuts off all output to protect the cell from damage. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until voltage climbs above the BMS recovery threshold, at which point the phone will boot normally. If there is still no response after 45 minutes on charge, check the charging cable and adapter with another device first.
Fast charging stopped working after fitting this battery — the phone only charges slowly now.
On the first charge cycle after a cell swap, the CS20's charge IC can fall back to standard 5V charging because the USB-PD or proprietary fast-charge handshake runs a fresh negotiation against the new cell's BMS. This is normal behaviour on the first cycle. Complete one full standard-rate charge to 100%, then disconnect and reconnect the charger — fast charging typically re-engages from the second cycle onward. If it does not, try a different fast-charge-rated cable, as the protocol negotiation is sensitive to cable resistance.
The battery percentage on the CS20 keeps jumping around erratically — showing 60%, then suddenly 45%, then back to 55%.
Erratic percentage readings are the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against the new cell's discharge curve. The coulomb counter is interpolating charge state from a reference map built on the old cell, so readings drift until it collects enough real discharge data on the replacement cell. Run two full discharge-charge cycles — drain the phone until it shuts itself off, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — and the jumps will narrow significantly. After three cycles the readings should stabilise to within a few percent of actual charge state.
