Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Castles V3 / VEGA3000-3G — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (IP604355-2P)
This 3.7V 2900mAh lithium-polymer battery replaces the OEM cell in the Castles V3 and VEGA3000-3G portable payment terminals. It matches the original IP604355-2P specification for voltage, capacity, and connector footprint. The 59.00 × 44.10 × 11.50mm form factor seats flush in the battery bay without modification.
- V3 and VEGA3000-3G compatibility: Both terminals run on the same 3.7V cell platform and share the IP604355-2P connector pinout. The BMS on each model uses the same voltage thresholds, so one cell serves both without a firmware conflict.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the V3 platform. The BMS accepted the cell on first boot, registered charge correctly, and held voltage above the low-battery cutoff through sustained transaction loads including receipt printing and wireless activity.
- First deployment tip for POS terminals: After installation, complete one full transaction cycle — including a receipt print — before deploying in a live environment. The terminal maps battery capacity during normal operation and needs at least one complete power cycle to calibrate the charge indicator correctly.
Terminal rebooting mid-transaction after a battery swap
The V3's receipt printer motor draws a short burst of current each time it fires. On a new cell that hasn't completed a full charge cycle, the BMS can interpret this surge as an overcurrent event and trip the protection circuit — cutting power mid-transaction. This isn't a faulty cell; it's the BMS acting on incomplete calibration data. Run the terminal through one full charge and at least one complete transaction with a receipt print before going live. After that cycle, the BMS registers the printer's current profile and no longer flags it as a fault.
Terminal won't power on after sitting unused in a drawer
Li-polymer cells self-discharge at roughly 2–3% per month. Left unused long enough, the cell drops below the BMS recovery threshold — typically around 2.5V — and the terminal refuses to boot. Plug the terminal into its charge dock and leave it for 30–60 minutes before attempting to power on. If the charge LED lights, the cell is recovering. If the terminal still won't boot after a full charge attempt, check that dock voltage at the connector reads 5V before assuming the cell is at fault.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Castles V3 shows a full charge on the indicator but shuts off when I print a receipt — what's happening?
The receipt printer motor pulls a spike of current that the BMS on the V3 can mistake for an overcurrent fault if the cell hasn't been calibrated yet. This typically happens in the first few charge cycles on a new battery. Run the terminal through a full charge and then complete several transactions with receipt prints. After two or three cycles, the BMS learns the printer's draw profile and stops tripping.
The battery indicator on my VEGA3000-3G has been stuck at 99% since I fitted the new cell — is it defective?
It isn't defective. When a new lithium-polymer cell first enters the charge circuit, the charge IC holds in top-off mode while it characterises the cell's capacity. The indicator stays near 100% until that process completes, which usually takes one full charge-to-discharge-to-charge cycle. Use the terminal normally through one business day and the percentage will start tracking accurately. No action needed beyond normal use.
My V3 was stored for a few months and now won't get past the PCI boot sequence — even with the new battery fitted, it keeps restarting at the same screen.
The PCI boot sequence on the V3 includes a battery handshake check. If the cell voltage reads low at the moment of that check — which can happen if the new battery also partially discharged during shipping — the terminal flags a power fault and loops. Charge the terminal fully before the first boot attempt, not after. Connect it to the dock for at least 45 minutes, then power on. If the boot loop continues, verify dock output is 5V at the charging port before ruling out the battery.
