Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Valor VL110 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (V3M2)
The V3M2 is a 3.7V, 3400mAh Li-ion battery for the Valor VL110 portable payment terminal. It slots into the VL110's battery bay and restores the power capacity lost when the original cell degrades. Voltage and connector match the OEM unit exactly.
- VL110 platform fit: The VL110 uses a single-cell 3.7V Li-ion pack with a BMS that validates cell chemistry and voltage on boot. This replacement uses the same nominal voltage and BMS handshake profile, so the terminal accepts it without throwing a battery fault on startup.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge-discharge runs under a combined display, wireless, and print load. The BMS held overcurrent protection across motor-start spikes from the receipt printer without nuisance tripping.
- First-deploy calibration: After installation, run one complete transaction — including a printed receipt — before putting the terminal into a live environment. The VL110 maps battery capacity during normal operation, and the charge indicator will not read accurately until the terminal completes at least one full power cycle under real load.
Terminal rebooting mid-transaction after battery swap
The VL110's receipt printer draws a short high-current burst when it feeds paper. On a new cell, the BMS may interpret that spike as an overcurrent event and cut output before the cell has completed its first full charge cycle. This is a BMS calibration issue, not a faulty battery. Charge the terminal to 100%, complete two or three full transaction-plus-print cycles, and the BMS will adjust its overcurrent threshold to the actual load profile of this device.
VL110 not powering on after sitting unused in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge at roughly 2–3% per month. A VL110 left in a drawer for several months can drop the cell below 2.5V — the threshold where most BMS circuits lock output to prevent cell damage. The terminal will show nothing on screen even when placed on charge. Connect the terminal to its OEM charger and leave it untouched for 90 minutes; most BMS units enter a trickle pre-charge mode that slowly recovers the cell to the 3.0V level needed to resume normal charging. If voltage does not recover past 3.0V after two hours on charge, the cell is below recoverable threshold.

Frequently Asked Questions
My VL110 keeps restarting every time it prints a receipt — is the new battery faulty?
The printer motor draws a sharp current spike on each paper feed, and a freshly installed cell's BMS may flag that as an overcurrent event before it has learned the terminal's load profile. This is not a defective battery. Charge the terminal fully, then run five or six complete print transactions back to back — the BMS recalibrates its trip threshold after repeated real-load cycles. If restarts stop after that break-in period, the battery is working correctly.
The charge indicator is stuck at 99% and won't move to 100% — what's happening?
The VL110's charge IC switches into top-off mode when the cell reaches about 4.15V, delivering a low-current trickle to push it the final increment to 4.2V. On a new cell this phase takes longer than on a conditioned cell, so the indicator can sit at 99% for 30–45 minutes. Leave the terminal on charge and do not interrupt it. Once the charge IC detects the full 4.2V and current drops below its termination threshold, the indicator will flip to 100% and charging will stop automatically.
The VL110 won't complete its boot sequence after I replaced the battery — it hangs on the startup screen.
The VL110 runs a PCI security boot that polls the battery's BMS for a valid handshake before it will finish loading. On first install, the BMS and terminal sometimes need one complete boot-charge cycle to complete that handshake exchange. Power the terminal off fully, place it on charge for at least 20 minutes, then boot it again. If the terminal still hangs, check that the battery connector is fully seated — a partial connection delivers enough voltage to start the boot but not enough for the BMS data line to respond.
