Fits Castles Vega 3000 and Vega 3000P terminals; replaces OEM part numbers V3M2, 40100023, and B16.
This 3.7V 3400mAh cell delivers the full capacity your terminal needs for uninterrupted transaction processing throughout a shift.
Single-cell connector slides straight into the battery bay with a positive-side contact tab that locks flush against the housing latch.
We ran full charge cycles on a bench rig; the BMS accepted the handshake on first insertion with no fault codes or current limiting.
After installation, run one complete transaction cycle before deploying in a live environment — the terminal calibrates the charge indicator during normal operation and needs at least one full power cycle to map capacity correctly.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Castles Vega 3000 / Vega 3000P — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (V3M2)

This 3.7V 3400mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original cell in the Castles Vega 3000 and Vega 3000P mobile payment terminals. It matches the OEM part numbers V3M2, 40100023, and B16. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds enough charge to complete a normal transaction session.

  • Vega 3000 and 3000P compatibility: Both models run the same 3.7V single-cell architecture with the same physical connector and BMS handshake protocol. One battery fits both variants without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through full charge and discharge on a Vega 3000 unit. The BMS accepted the cell, reported state-of-charge correctly, and held voltage within spec across combined display, wireless, and printer draw.
  • First-use calibration on Vega 3000: After fitting this battery, complete at least one full transaction cycle — receipt print included — before deploying in a live environment. The terminal maps battery capacity during normal use and needs one complete power cycle to calibrate the charge indicator accurately.

Payment terminal rebooting mid-transaction after battery swap

When the receipt printer fires, it draws a short, sharp current spike — often 1.5A or more in under 100 milliseconds. On a new cell that hasn't completed its first charge cycle, the BMS may read this spike as an overcurrent event and trip the output. The terminal cuts power, the transaction fails, and the display restarts. Run the terminal through a full charge cycle first, then process a test transaction with a printed receipt before going live.

Terminal not powering on after sitting unused in a drawer

Li-ion cells self-discharge at roughly 2–3% per month. A Vega 3000 left unused for several months can drain the cell below the BMS recovery threshold — typically around 2.5V. At that point the BMS locks the output and the terminal shows nothing when you press the power button. Connect the terminal to its original charger and leave it for 30–45 minutes without pressing any buttons; most BMS units will re-initialise once the cell climbs back above 2.8V.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Vega 3000 reboots every time it prints a receipt — is that the battery?

Yes, almost certainly. The printer motor draws a brief current spike at the moment of printing, and if the BMS hasn't completed its first full charge cycle, it can trip on that spike and cut power to the terminal. Charge the battery fully via the terminal's original charger, then run one complete test transaction with a printed receipt before processing live payments. After that first cycle, the BMS will have established its baseline and the reboot behaviour should stop.

The charge indicator on my Vega 3000 has been stuck at 99% since I fitted the new battery — is it faulty?

It isn't faulty. When a new Li-ion cell is installed, the charge IC enters a top-off phase where it delivers a low trickle current to bring the cell to exactly 4.2V per cell. During this phase the terminal reports 99% because it hasn't confirmed the cell is fully topped. Leave the terminal on charge, undisturbed, for a further 60–90 minutes. Once the charge IC exits top-off mode, the indicator will move to 100% and the battery capacity map will reset correctly.

My Vega 3000 went flat while unused and now it won't respond at all — how do I recover it?

Extended storage drains the cell below the BMS recovery threshold, around 2.5V, at which point the BMS locks its output entirely. Plug the terminal into its original charger and leave it connected for at least 30–45 minutes without pressing any buttons. Most BMS units re-initialise once the cell voltage climbs back above 2.8V, after which the terminal will power on normally and continue charging to full.
