Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lenovo ET280 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (GB/T18287-2000)
This 3.7V, 2600mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original cell in the Lenovo ET280 PDA. It fits the ET280 handheld directly, restoring power to a device that has lost runtime to cell degradation. Voltage and capacity match the original specification exactly.
- ET280 platform fit: The ET280 runs a single-cell 3.7V Li-ion architecture. The BMS in the device communicates with the battery over the connector to manage charge cutoff and low-voltage protection. This cell meets that voltage rail and connector spec, so the handshake completes correctly.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the ET280 platform. The BMS accepted the battery without fault codes, charge termination triggered cleanly at 4.2V, and the low-voltage cutoff fired at the expected threshold before cell damage could occur.
- Pre-swap sync on the ET280: The ET280 holds open application state and unsaved data in volatile RAM powered directly by the main battery. Before removing the old cell, perform a full ActiveSync or data sync to the host computer. Any file left open in RAM will be gone the moment battery voltage drops to zero.
ET280 not booting after new battery installation
A freshly installed Li-ion cell often ships at a storage charge of around 3.0–3.3V. The ET280 boot sequence requires a minimum voltage to initialise the processor and load the OS from flash. If the device shows nothing on screen or immediately powers off, the cell voltage is too low to complete the boot. Connect the ET280 to its charger for at least 30 minutes before attempting the first power-on — the charge cycle will bring the cell above the boot threshold, typically 3.6V.
Battery life noticeably shorter during barcode scanning or wireless sync
The ET280's scanner LED and wireless radio draw significantly more current than standby or basic data entry. At a 3.7V nominal cell, a burst scan or active Wi-Fi or Bluetooth session can pull several hundred milliamps — well above the background load the device sees when idle. This spike causes visible voltage sag, which the BMS can read as a low-battery condition even when the cell still holds substantial charge. If life feels short in active scanning use, let the device run a full discharge-and-charge cycle to recalibrate the fuel gauge to the actual 2600mAh capacity of this cell.

Frequently Asked Questions
My ET280 lost all its contacts and calendar entries when I swapped the battery — is something wrong with the new cell?
Nothing is wrong with the cell. The ET280 stores contacts, calendar data, and open application state in SRAM, which is powered directly by the main battery. The moment the old cell was removed, that RAM lost power and the data was wiped — this is expected behaviour, not a fault. Restore from your last ActiveSync or backup, and sync to the host computer before every future battery swap.
The ET280 screen stays black after fitting the new battery — it won't turn on at all.
This happens because the replacement cell ships at a storage voltage of roughly 3.0–3.3V, which is below the minimum the ET280 needs to complete its boot sequence. Connect the device to the charger immediately without trying to power it on, and leave it charging for at least 30 minutes. Once the cell climbs above approximately 3.6V, the device will boot normally on the next power-on attempt.
Wireless sync keeps dropping or running very slowly after the battery swap — was it faster before?
The ET280's wireless radio is voltage-sensitive and draws a large current burst when it transmits. If the battery isn't at a full charge after the swap, voltage sag during transmission causes the radio to throttle or drop the connection entirely. Charge the device to 100% before running a wireless sync session — the radio performs most consistently with the cell at or above 4.0V.
