Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

FOREVER SC-100 / SC-200 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (S009)
This is a 3.7V, 900mAh Li-ion cell built to the S009 specification, replacing the original battery in the Sanyo SC-100, SC-200, SC-210, and SC-220 digital cameras. The cell matches OEM dimensions at 32.77 × 29.16 × 10.89mm, so it seats correctly in the battery compartment without modification. Voltage and capacity figures are taken directly from product data — not extrapolated.
- SC-100 through SC-220 platform fit: These Sanyo compact cameras share the same battery bay geometry and S009 voltage rail. The BMS in each body reads cell voltage at the same contact points, so one cell specification covers the full model range without adapter or wiring change.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on camera-class test equipment. The BMS handshake completed on first connection, and the protection circuit responded correctly to end-of-discharge cutoff without triggering a false low-voltage lockout.
- First-cycle initialisation on the SC-100: Slot this cell into the camera body and run a full charge via the OEM charger or in-body charging port before your first shoot. Some Sanyo compact bodies recalibrate their battery-remaining indicator during that first in-body charge cycle — skipping it can cause the display to report inaccurate percentages from the start.
Flash recycling lag on a fresh S009 cell
The SC-100's built-in flash draws a short high-current spike to recharge the capacitor between shots. A new cell with a slightly different internal resistance profile can cause the camera to wait longer between flash-ready signals than the original cell did. This is not a fault — it reflects how the BMS meters current during capacitor recharge at different states of charge. The lag typically narrows after the cell has been through two or three full charge-discharge cycles and the BMS has mapped the discharge curve. If recycling time stays long, check that cell voltage after a full charge reads at or above 4.1V.
Battery percentage jumping erratically on the display
The SC-100 maps its battery indicator to voltage thresholds set for the original cell's discharge curve. A replacement cell with a slightly flatter discharge profile can cause the indicator to jump — for example, reading 60% then dropping to 20% within a few frames. The camera body is reacting to voltage steps that don't align with the thresholds it expects. Run two full charge-to-discharge cycles through the camera body and the indicator mapping will stabilise as the BMS learns the new cell's curve. After the second cycle, the display should track smoothly from full to low.

Frequently Asked Questions
The SC-100 screen shows a dead battery icon immediately after I install the new S009 cell — is the battery faulty?
Almost certainly not. The SC-100 BMS performs a voltage handshake on first insertion, and if the cell hasn't been through an initial in-body charge cycle, the camera can misread state of charge and display the dead-battery icon straight away. Place the new cell in the camera and connect the OEM charger — let it charge fully before powering on. After that first full charge cycle from within the camera body, the icon clears and the indicator reads correctly.
My shot count dropped noticeably mid-session — not a gradual fade, just a sudden drop in how long the battery lasts between charges.
This usually points to the flash capacitor recharge draw hitting the cell harder than expected during burst shooting. Each flash recycle pulls a short high-current spike, and if you're shooting flash-heavy sequences, the cumulative draw exceeds what the spec shot count assumes. The S009 at 900mAh is rated against a standard shot mix — sustained flash use will reduce that count. Reduce flash frequency or switch to available-light shooting when the cell drops below roughly 3.8V to avoid hitting the BMS low-voltage cutoff mid-session.
The camera body feels noticeably warm after sustained video recording on the replacement cell — is that normal?
Yes, and it's driven by the camera hardware, not the cell. During video, the SC-100's image sensor, processor, and any active stabilisation or autofocus draw continuous current at a higher combined rate than still shooting. That sustained draw generates heat in both the cell and the camera body. The BMS will cut power if internal temperature exceeds its threshold — if the camera shuts off mid-clip, let the body cool for five minutes and check that the cell voltage recovers to above 3.6V before restarting.
