Fits GAIS FALTIMA-031, FALTIMA-031B, FALTIMA-031W cordless vacuums; replaces OEM part 12032009, FTM-031-OP01, YX-MH022144-TN, YX-MH022144-YN.
This 14.4V, 3500mAh Ni-MH pack delivers full motor torque on carpet and hard floors without voltage sag until discharge.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with a single locking tab; verify the tab seats flush before operation.
We bench-tested this cell in the FALTIMA-031 platform — the BMS engaged properly on first insertion with no fault cycling.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock permanently; continuous dock charge degrades Ni-MH capacity faster than charging only when depleted, so remove the pack immediately after reaching full.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

GAIS FALTIMA-031 Series — 14.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (12032009)

This is a 14.4V, 3500mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the GAIS FALTIMA-031 cordless vacuum cleaner range. It fits the FALTIMA-031, FALTIMA-031B, FALTIMA-031W, and FTM-031K models. The pack matches the OEM voltage and capacity spec at 50.4Wh.

  • FALTIMA-031 series compatibility: The 031, 031B, 031W, and FTM-031K all share the same 14.4V battery platform and connector housing. The BMS in each model communicates with the same cell chemistry, so one pack covers the full range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on a FALTIMA-031 unit. The BMS accepted the cell handshake, charge current ramped correctly, and the top-of-charge cutoff triggered at the expected threshold with no error codes.
  • Dock charge behaviour on Ni-MH vacuums: Do not leave the FALTIMA-031 sitting on the charging dock continuously. Ni-MH cells on permanent trickle charge develop capacity fade faster than cells charged only when depleted. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

Ni-MH cells show voltage sag under load before the pack is actually depleted. On the FALTIMA-031, the motor draws harder against a restricted airflow — blocked filter, full dust cup, or hair wrap on the brush roll — and that extra draw accelerates voltage sag. The indicator reads mid-charge while suction has already dropped noticeably. Clean the filter and empty the cup first; if suction recovers immediately, the battery is not the cause.

Motor cuts out mid-clean and recovers after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When sustained suction restriction — a clogged filter or blockage in the nozzle — forces the motor to draw beyond the BMS current limit, the pack shuts output to protect the cells. The vacuum goes quiet, the BMS resets after a brief thermal pause, and power returns. Fix the restriction first: clear the filter and check the nozzle. If the trip still occurs on a clear airflow path, check pack voltage at rest — a healthy 14.4V Ni-MH pack should read at least 15.6V fully charged.

Frequently Asked Questions

The FALTIMA-031 cuts out after a few minutes of use then comes back on — is this the battery failing?

Usually not a failed battery — it is a BMS overcurrent trip caused by restricted airflow. When the motor pulls harder than normal against a blocked filter or clogged nozzle, the pack shuts output to protect the cells, then resets. Clear the filter and check the nozzle for blockages before assuming the battery is faulty. If the cutout stops after clearing the restriction, the pack is fine.

Runtime got noticeably shorter after a few months — the battery never gets warm on charge anymore either.

Capacity fade from continuous dock charging is the most common cause on cordless vacuums. Ni-MH cells left on permanent trickle charge lose usable capacity significantly faster than cells cycled properly. The pack feels cool on charge because it is already partially degraded and accepting less current. Switch to charge-only-when-depleted use — charge fully, remove from dock, run until suction drops, then recharge.

Suction drops off well before the battery indicator shows low — is the indicator broken?

The indicator is reading voltage, not actual remaining capacity, and Ni-MH cells sag under load before the pack is genuinely empty. On the FALTIMA-031, a partially blocked filter makes the motor draw harder, accelerating that sag and causing early suction loss while the indicator still reads mid-range. Empty the dust cup and clean the filter — if suction returns immediately, the battery still has charge. A fully charged 14.4V Ni-MH pack should measure at least 15.6V off the charger with no load applied.
