Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Goddess CL 590 — 14.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery
This is a 14.4V, 3500mAh Ni-MH battery pack for the Goddess CL 590 cordless stick vacuum. It replaces the original pack when capacity has dropped to the point where the vacuum no longer runs long enough to complete a clean. Fits both the CL 590 and CL590 variants — same unit, different market labelling.
- CL 590 platform fit: The CL 590 runs a 14.4V motor rail with a Ni-MH pack configuration that sets the operating voltage window the motor controller expects. Swapping to a correctly rated Ni-MH pack keeps the voltage delivery within that window without triggering undervoltage cutoff mid-cycle.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the CL 590 motor load. The BMS held stable across the full discharge curve and the pack accepted charge from the OEM dock without handshake errors.
- Dock charging habit on the CL 590: Remove the vacuum from the charging dock once the pack reaches full charge. The CL 590 dock does not switch to a true maintenance mode — leaving it docked continuously pushes trickle current through Ni-MH cells and accelerates capacity fade faster than normal cycle wear.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
On the CL 590, suction loss well before the low-battery indicator trips is usually a voltage sag issue, not a charge level issue. Ni-MH cells under a degraded state can deliver enough voltage to keep the indicator reading mid-range while actual cell output under motor load collapses early. The motor controller reads the voltage drop as normal operation until the sag becomes too steep. A fresh 14.4V pack with full cell capacity restores the flat discharge curve the motor needs to sustain consistent airflow.
Motor cuts out and recovers during use on thick carpet
If the CL 590 motor stops suddenly then restarts after a few seconds, the BMS is tripping on an overcurrent event — not a dead battery. Thick carpet or a partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw current above the BMS threshold, which triggers a protective shutoff. Clear the filter and check the brush roll for hair wrap before assuming the battery is the cause. If the motor still trips on a clean filter, the pack's internal resistance has risen high enough that voltage drop under surge load looks like an overcurrent condition to the BMS — replace the pack and retest.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Goddess CL 590 loses suction halfway through vacuuming but the battery light still shows green — what's going on?
This is voltage sag from a degraded Ni-MH pack, not a charge indicator fault. Worn cells drop voltage under motor load well before the indicator registers low, so the light stays green while the motor starves for power. Check the filter first — a blocked filter makes the motor pull harder and accelerates the sag. If the filter is clear, the pack's capacity has faded and a replacement 3500mAh pack will restore consistent suction across the full discharge cycle.
The CL 590 motor keeps cutting out for a few seconds then comes back on — is this the battery or a blockage?
That pattern is a BMS overcurrent trip, and a blockage is the first thing to rule out. Restricted airflow — from a clogged filter or hair jammed in the brush roll — causes the motor to spike current above the BMS cutoff threshold, triggering a momentary shutoff. Clear the filter and brush roll completely, then retest on the same surface. If it still trips on a clean machine, the pack's internal resistance has climbed high enough that the current surge at motor start looks like an overcurrent event — at that point, replace the pack.
I've had my CL 590 sitting on the dock for weeks and now the new battery fades faster than expected — did I damage it already?
Continuous dock charging is the most common cause of early capacity fade in Ni-MH vacuum packs. The CL 590 dock does not cut to a true float charge when full — it keeps pushing trickle current through the cells, which degrades them faster than regular charge cycles would. From this point, run the pack down fully during use and remove it from the dock as soon as charging completes. Ni-MH cells respond better to this pattern than Li-ion, and capacity should stabilise after a few proper full cycles.
