This is a 14.4V 3500mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Indream 9200, 9300, 9300XR, and 9700 cordless vacuum cleaners. It slots into the same battery compartment as the original and connects directly to the vacuum's motor controller board. Voltage and capacity match the factory specification.

  • 9200 / 9300 / 9300XR / 9700 compatibility: These models share the same 14.4V battery rail, physical form factor, and connector pinout. The BMS in each variant reads voltage and temperature from the same cell configuration, so one replacement battery covers the full range.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through full charge and discharge on a 9300 unit. The BMS accepted the cell pack without fault codes, maintained stable voltage under sustained motor load, and cut off cleanly at the low-voltage threshold without nuisance trips.
  • Dock charging discipline on Ni-MH cells: Ni-MH chemistry is more vulnerable to trickle-charge damage than lithium. Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the dock continuously. Charge when the battery is depleted, remove it from the dock once full, and store the vacuum unplugged between uses.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

This happens when the motor draws more current than the cell pack can sustain at full voltage. Voltage sags under load before the overall state-of-charge drops enough to trigger the low indicator. A partially blocked filter makes this worse — restricted airflow forces the motor to work harder, pulling more amps and deepening the voltage sag. Clean the filter first, then check whether suction holds steady under normal load.

Motor cutting out mid-use then recovering after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a flat battery. When suction is restricted — blocked filter, full dust cup, or a tangled brush roll — motor current spikes beyond the BMS cutoff threshold and the pack shuts off to protect the cells. The BMS resets after a brief cool-down, which is why the vacuum works again after a short wait. Clear the filter restriction, empty the dust cup, and check the brush roll before assuming the battery is at fault.

My Indream vacuum loses suction noticeably about halfway through a vacuuming session even though the battery indicator still shows plenty of charge — what's happening?

Ni-MH cells drop voltage under sustained motor load before the state-of-charge indicator catches up, so the indicator looks fine while suction is already suffering. A dirty or clogged filter makes this worse by forcing the motor to pull more current than it needs to. Clean the filter thoroughly and empty the dust cup, then run another session — that alone often restores consistent suction. If the problem persists with a clean filter, the original battery's cells have likely degraded below usable capacity and the replacement will recover full motor voltage.

The vacuum runs fine for a minute, then the motor cuts out completely, and if I wait a few seconds it starts again — is that the battery or the motor?

That pattern is a BMS overcurrent trip on the battery, not a motor fault. Restricted airflow — from a blocked filter, full dust cup, or tangled brush roll — causes the motor to spike above the BMS current limit, which shuts the pack off to protect the cells. The BMS resets after a brief pause, which is why the vacuum recovers on its own. Clear every restriction before replacing anything: check the filter, empty the cup, and free the brush roll.

I charged this replacement battery overnight on the dock but the vacuum still feels weak from the start of the first use — did the cells not charge properly?

Leaving a Ni-MH pack on the dock overnight is the likely cause. Ni-MH cells are sensitive to continuous trickle charge — a full overnight session on a basic dock can heat the cells and reduce usable capacity right from the first use. Discharge the battery fully by running the vacuum until it cuts off, then charge it in one controlled session and remove it from the dock as soon as the charge indicator shows full. Check resting voltage after charging — a healthy 14.4V Ni-MH pack should read between 16.5V and 17V off the charger.
