Fits Toposun TPS-XR-210, XR210, XR510 cordless stick vacuums as direct replacement battery pack.
14.4V Ni-MH chemistry with 3500mAh capacity delivers consistent motor voltage through full cleaning cycles on these handheld models.
Connector slides onto dock contact pins with positive lead forward; locking tab seats flush against housing slot.
Bench tested on TPS-XR-210 platform — BMS accepted charge without handshake delay; discharge curve remained flat under sustained motor draw.
Do not leave this pack on the charging dock continuously — Ni-MH cells on trickle charge degrade faster than those removed after reaching full capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Toposun TPS-XR-210 / XR510 — 14.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 14.4V Ni-MH battery pack rated at 3500mAh (50.4Wh), built to fit Toposun cordless vacuum models TPS-XR-210, XR210, and XR510. It replaces the original pack when capacity has dropped or the unit no longer holds a usable charge. Voltage and connector match the original specification for these models.

  • TPS-XR-210, XR210, XR510 compatibility: These three models share the same 14.4V power rail, connector housing, and BMS handshake protocol. A single cell pack covers all three without any modification to wiring or mounting tabs.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and load discharge using a 14.4V Ni-MH compatible charger and a resistive load matching the vacuum motor draw. The BMS held cutoff voltage correctly and the pack delivered consistent output across multiple cycles without thermal event.
  • Dock charging habit on Ni-MH cells: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock continuously. Ni-MH chemistry degrades faster under constant trickle charge than Li-ion. Charge to full, remove from the dock, and reconnect only when the pack is depleted.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

This happens when the motor draws more current than rated due to a restricted airflow path — typically a clogged filter or partially blocked cyclone chamber. Under that extra load, cell voltage sags earlier than the indicator expects, so the vacuum loses suction while the gauge still shows charge. The BMS interprets the voltage drop as a load event, not a low-battery event, so no warning triggers. Clean the filter first, then retest — a clear airflow path brings motor draw back within the rated current band and suction recovers.

Motor cuts out mid-use then recovers after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a depleted pack. When suction is sustained against a blockage or a heavily loaded carpet, the motor current spikes beyond the pack's protection threshold and the BMS disconnects the output. A short pause lets the BMS reset and the motor restarts. The fix is to remove the obstruction or reduce suction load — not to replace the battery. If trips continue on an unblocked vacuum, verify the filter is clean and check that cell voltage is above 12.5V under light load before ruling out a worn pack.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Toposun XR210 loses suction halfway through a clean even though the battery light isn't showing low — is the new battery already faulty?

It is not likely a faulty battery. When the filter is partially blocked, the motor works harder and draws more current than rated, which causes cell voltage to sag early — well before the indicator registers low charge. The battery gauge reads state of charge, not motor load, so the light stays green while suction drops. Clean the filter thoroughly and retest before drawing any conclusions about the pack.

The vacuum cuts out for a few seconds then restarts on its own — what is causing that?

That is the BMS tripping on an overcurrent spike, not the battery running out. It happens when the motor is held against a restriction — thick carpet edge, a blockage, or a clogged cyclone — and current exceeds the pack's protection threshold. The BMS disconnects output briefly to protect the cells, then resets. Clear any blockage, confirm the filter is clean, and run the vacuum on a clear hard floor to check whether the trips stop.

This replacement battery fades much faster than the original did when it was new — could continuous dock charging be the cause?

Yes, that is the most common cause of early capacity fade on Ni-MH packs. Leaving the vacuum on the charging dock continuously exposes the cells to constant low-level charge current, which degrades Ni-MH chemistry faster than Li-ion. Charge the pack to full, disconnect from the dock, and only reconnect when the battery is genuinely depleted. Cycling the pack fully down before each charge keeps cell capacity stable across a larger number of cycles.
