It fits MD95058, MD95069, MD95083, and more than 58 additional Medion navigator models sharing the same cell format and connector. Capacity matches the original specification at 4.63Wh.

GPS battery draining faster on active navigation than standby

Active navigation runs the GPS receiver and display simultaneously, which pulls significantly more current than standby. On the MD95023, maximum screen brightness during turn-by-turn routing is the single biggest current draw — not the GPS receiver itself. Dropping screen brightness by two steps noticeably extends active navigation sessions. If drain still seems excessive, check whether the unit is constantly recalculating routes, which keeps the processor active and compounds the draw.

MD95023 shutting off without low-battery warning

This happens when the navigator's battery indicator is calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve and the replacement cell sits at a slightly different voltage profile. The device reads the battery as sufficient, then hits the BMS undervoltage cutoff before the visual warning triggers. Recalibrate by running the battery down until shutdown, then charging uninterrupted to full — this re-anchors the indicator to the actual voltage range. After one full cycle, the warning should appear at the correct threshold near 3.4–3.5V.

My Medion MD95023 lost all saved routes after I swapped the battery — is that normal?

Yes. Some Medion navigators store active route data and recent destinations in volatile RAM that loses power the moment the battery is removed. Saved favourites written to flash memory survive the swap, but any route loaded at the time of removal will be gone. Reload your route from the saved favourites list or re-enter it — it will not reappear on its own.

Satellite lock is taking 5–10 minutes after fitting the new battery — was something damaged?

Nothing is damaged. Removing the battery clears the GPS receiver's almanac and ephemeris cache, forcing a full cold start on next power-on. A cold start always takes 5–10 minutes outdoors with a clear sky view while the unit downloads fresh satellite data. After the first successful fix, subsequent power cycles lock in under a minute because the cache is rebuilt and stored on the device.

GPS accuracy seems worse at low battery on the MD95023 — is the new cell faulty?

Some Medion navigator firmware deliberately reduces GPS receiver sensitivity when battery voltage drops near the cutoff threshold, trading accuracy for enough power to finish logging position. This is a firmware behaviour, not a cell fault. Charge the unit above 50% and recheck accuracy — if it returns to normal, the cell is working correctly. If accuracy remains poor at a full charge, the issue is with the GPS antenna or receiver, not the battery.
