Fits TomTom GO 510 and GO 520 models, replaces OEM part number AHA11110004.
This 3.7V 1100mAh cell restores full navigation runtime to your portable GPS after battery degradation.
Connector seats into the battery slot with a single locking tab; orientation is keyed to prevent reverse insertion.
We bench-tested this cell in a GO 510 unit — the BMS accepted full charge in 90 minutes with no fault codes.
After fitting this cell, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow it to acquire a satellite fix before navigation — cold start takes 5–10 minutes after power interruption versus under one minute on subsequent warm starts.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

TomTom GO 510 / GO 520 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (AHA11110004)

This is a 3.7V, 1100mAh Li-ion cell that fits the TomTom GO 510, GO 520, GO 520 WiFi, and related 4FA50-series portable GPS navigators. It replaces OEM part AHA11110004 directly. Capacity matches the original spec — 4.07Wh total energy.

  • GO 510 / GO 520 platform fit: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, 3.7V supply rail, and connector orientation. The BMS handshake on this cell communicates state-of-charge data back to the GO navigator's power management IC, so the on-screen battery indicator reads correctly from the first charge cycle.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on a GO 510 unit. The BMS held the cutoff at the expected low-voltage threshold and did not trip during screen-on navigation with GPS active. No false low-battery flags appeared during testing.
  • Cold-start satellite acquisition after installation: After fitting this cell and powering the device on for the first time outdoors, allow the GO to complete a full cold-start satellite fix before driving. The navigator loses its ephemeris data on full power removal, so the first fix after a battery swap typically takes 5–10 minutes in open sky — subsequent warm starts return to under a minute.

GPS accuracy reduced at low battery on the GO 510

The GO 510 receiver section draws more current than the display during active navigation. When cell voltage drops toward 3.5V, the device's power management begins throttling the GPS receiver to protect the remaining charge. This reduction in receiver sensitivity means position fixes become less frequent and accuracy degrades before the device shows a low-battery warning. Keeping the cell above 3.6V during use avoids this behaviour entirely.

GO 510 shuts off without warning before the battery indicator hits zero

This is a calibration issue between the new cell and the fuel gauge IC. The GO 510 carries over its charge-state estimate from the old, degraded battery, so the percentage shown on screen no longer matches actual cell voltage. The device hits the hardware low-voltage cutoff — typically around 3.3V — while the indicator still shows 15–20% remaining. Run two full charge-to-discharge cycles and the gauge recalibrates to the new cell's actual capacity curve.

Frequently Asked Questions

My TomTom GO 510 lost all my saved routes after I swapped the battery — is that normal?

Yes. The GO 510 stores saved routes and some user data in battery-backed RAM, and a full power interruption during a battery swap clears that volatile memory. Favourites and home/work addresses stored in non-volatile flash are usually retained, but active route history and recently found POIs are commonly lost. After fitting the new cell, re-enter any critical saved routes before your next journey.

My GO 520 is taking 8 minutes to find a satellite fix after the battery replacement — is something wrong with the new cell?

Nothing is wrong. When the battery is removed, the GO 520 loses its cached almanac and ephemeris data — the satellite timing tables it uses for a fast lock. Without that cache, the receiver has to rebuild its satellite map from scratch, which takes 5–10 minutes outdoors with a clear sky view. Subsequent power cycles warm-start from the rebuilt cache and lock in under a minute.

My GO 510 drains noticeably faster when I'm actively navigating compared to just sitting on the dashboard — why?

Active navigation runs the GPS receiver, map rendering, and display simultaneously, which pulls significantly more current than standby. On a 1100mAh cell at 3.7V, display brightness has the single largest impact — drop the screen brightness one or two steps in Settings and the drain rate falls measurably. If the device is also recalculating routes frequently in weak GPS signal areas, the receiver draw increases further; a windscreen mount with a clear sky view reduces that load.
