Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Vodafone VPA Touch — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (ELF0160)
This 3.7V, 2000mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Vodafone VPA Touch smartphone. It fits the OEM part numbers ELF0160, 35H00095-00M, and FFEA175B009951. Dimensions are 50.84 × 36.65 × 10.78mm — check these against your current cell before installing.
- VPA Touch fit: The VPA Touch uses a 3.7V single-cell Li-ion pack with a specific connector pinout tied to the device's charge IC. This replacement matches that pinout, voltage rail, and physical footprint — the BMS handshake passes without triggering a charge fault on the host board.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell under a load profile replicating screen-on, modem, and standby draw. The BMS held charge termination at 4.2V and engaged undervoltage cutoff cleanly at 3.0V — no premature trips during load transitions.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: Disable fast charging for the first complete discharge-charge cycle after installation. The fuel gauge IC on the VPA Touch calibrates its coulomb counter against the discharge curve of the new cell — running a slow first cycle gives it an accurate baseline before high-current charging is applied.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the VPA Touch after a cell swap
This is a voltage cliff issue. The fuel gauge IC still references the discharge curve of the old, degraded cell — so the percentage shown on screen does not match the actual state of charge in the new cell. When the phone pulls current for a modem transmission or screen wake, the new cell hits its voltage floor faster than the gauge predicted, and the device shuts off to protect the circuit. One full uninterrupted discharge-charge cycle resets the coulomb counter to the new cell's actual curve. After that cycle, the reported percentage tracks real capacity accurately.
VPA Touch not powering on after the replacement battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells in storage self-discharge slowly. If the replacement cell dropped below 2.5V before installation, the BMS enters lockout mode and blocks charge current to prevent plating on the anode. The phone will show no charge indicator and will not power on. Connect the device to a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power on. Most BMS circuits on this cell will exit lockout and begin trickle charging once the input voltage is stable at 5V.

Frequently Asked Questions
My VPA Touch shows 25% battery and then just shuts off — is the new cell faulty?
It is not faulty. The phone's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the discharge curve of your old, worn cell — it does not know the new cell's curve yet. When the modem or display draws a surge of current, the new cell hits its voltage floor before the gauge registers it as low, triggering an emergency shutdown. Run one full discharge from 100% to automatic cutoff, then charge to 100% without interruption. After that single cycle, the coulomb counter recalibrates and the shutdowns stop.
The battery percentage on my VPA Touch jumps around erratically after fitting the replacement — sometimes it goes up while I'm using the phone.
The fuel gauge IC is still reading against a stored discharge curve that no longer matches the new cell's chemistry. The coulomb counter loses sync and produces unstable readings — including occasional false rises during light load. This is not a wiring or contact issue. Complete one full uninterrupted discharge-charge cycle and the gauge will lock onto the new cell's actual voltage-to-capacity relationship. Erratic readings almost always stop after that first calibration cycle.
My VPA Touch feels warm near the battery during the first few charges — is that normal with a new cell?
Yes, and here is why. A new cell has higher internal impedance than a well-cycled one. The charge IC pushes the same current it always does, but higher impedance means more energy is lost as heat during the first few charge cycles. This is temporary — impedance drops as the cell forms properly over the first three to five cycles. If the warmth becomes uncomfortable to hold or the device is hot rather than warm, stop charging and check that the connector is seated flat with no bent pins on the board.
