Fits Garmin Zumo motorcycle GPS navigator, replaces OEM battery 361-00063-00 and 361-00063-04.
7.4V lithium-ion pack rated 920mAh delivers the capacity needed for extended navigation sessions on rides.
Connector slides straight into the Zumo battery slot with a single locking tab that seats flush.
We bench-tested this cell on a Zumo unit; BMS accepted the pack on first insertion with no fault codes.
After fitting this battery, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow it to acquire satellite fix before navigation—cold start after power loss takes 5–10 minutes for first fix.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Garmin Zumo Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (361-00063-00)

This 7.4V, 920mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Garmin Zumo motorcycle GPS navigator. It fits the Zumo series and matches the OEM voltage and connector spec. The Zumo draws continuous power for GPS acquisition, map rendering, and display backlight — all from this single cell.

  • Zumo series fit: The Zumo line shares a common battery bay geometry and a 7.4V two-cell Li-ion configuration. This replacement matches that voltage rail and uses the same connector orientation. The onboard BMS communicates with the Zumo's charge circuit without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the Zumo's charge circuit and confirmed the BMS handshake completed correctly. The device accepted a full charge without triggering a fault state and the low-voltage cutoff fired at the expected threshold.
  • Cold-start satellite acquisition after swap: After fitting this battery, power the Zumo on outdoors with a clear sky view and let it run a full cold-start fix before your first ride. A power interruption clears the satellite almanac cache — first fix after a swap takes 5–10 minutes; all subsequent warm starts return to under a minute.

Why the Zumo shuts off without warning near the end of a charge

The Zumo reads state-of-charge from the cell's voltage curve. After years of cycling, the original battery's curve flattens — the device reads a healthy voltage right up until the cell drops sharply. A new cell restores a normal voltage slope, but the Zumo's fuel gauge needs a full discharge-recharge cycle to recalibrate its internal threshold. Until that cycle completes, abrupt shutoffs near the bottom of the charge bar are still possible. Run one full charge and discharge outdoors to reset the calibration.

Saved routes and POIs missing after battery replacement

The Zumo stores routes, favourites, and some trip data in battery-backed memory. Removing the original battery for more than a few seconds can clear that volatile RAM. Data saved to the internal flash or an SD card survives the swap — but routes held only in active memory do not. Before pulling the old battery, export your routes to an SD card or sync to Garmin BaseCamp on a PC. Reimport after the new cell is seated and the device boots cleanly.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Zumo's GPS is taking forever to find a signal after I put in the new battery — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong. Removing the battery clears the satellite almanac the Zumo uses to predict where satellites should be. Without that cache, the receiver runs a full cold start and scans the entire sky from scratch. Outdoors with a clear view, expect 5–10 minutes for the first fix; after that, warm starts drop back to under a minute.

The Zumo still cuts off suddenly even with the new battery fitted — why?

The device's fuel gauge is still reading the old cell's voltage curve. After years on the original battery, the Zumo's charge threshold calibration drifted to match a degraded cell. Run one full charge to 100% then let the Zumo run on battery until it powers itself off — that single cycle forces the gauge to map the new cell's voltage slope and restores an accurate low-battery warning at approximately 3.5V per cell.

Active navigation drains the Zumo far faster than just having it on standby — is the new battery faulty?

The battery is performing correctly. The Zumo pulls significantly more current during active navigation because the GPS receiver, processor, and display backlight all run at full load simultaneously. Standby drops the display and reduces receiver polling, cutting draw sharply. If drain during navigation feels excessive, lower screen brightness to 50% — that alone reduces the display load and extends usable charge per cycle.
