Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sennheiser LSP 500 Pro — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LBA 500)

This is a 14.4V, 5200mAh Li-ion battery for the Sennheiser LSP 500 Pro wireless speaker system. It replaces OEM part numbers LBA 500 and 505596. When the original cell degrades and no longer holds a useful charge, this is the direct swap to restore the unit.

  • LSP 500 Pro platform fit: The LSP 500 Pro runs a 14.4V nominal rail with a proprietary BMS handshake through the base station. This pack matches that voltage rail and connector pinout so the base station's charge controller recognises the new cell without throwing a fault.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the LSP 500 Pro base station and confirmed the BMS completed a full charge handshake. Cell balancing engaged correctly and no protection trips were logged under sustained wireless audio draw.
  • First-cycle base station protocol: Seat the pack in the LSP 500 Pro base station and let it run a complete charge cycle before using the speaker on battery. The base needs to log the new cell's state-of-charge curve before its battery indicator reads accurately.

Base station not recognising a new pack after install

The LSP 500 Pro base station uses a BMS handshake to verify the pack before enabling the charge circuit. If a new battery ships at storage voltage — typically around 3.6–3.7V per cell — the base may show no charge activity or a fault indicator on first seat. Remove the pack, reinsert it firmly to ensure full pin contact, then leave it undisturbed in the base for at least 30 minutes. The BMS needs that dwell time to wake the charge controller and begin the first cycle.

Talk time shorter than rated across the first few uses

A new Li-ion cell does not deliver its full rated capacity on the first discharge. The 5200mAh figure reflects capacity after the cell has been through three to five full charge-discharge cycles. On early cycles the battery management system is still mapping the usable cell range. Run three complete cycles — full charge in the base, full discharge in use — and talk time will step up toward the rated figure with each cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

My LSP 500 Pro cuts out mid-use even though the battery shows charged — what's causing it?

The LSP 500 Pro draws current from two loads simultaneously — the Class D amplifier and the wireless radio — and that combined spike can push a degraded or poorly seated cell below the BMS undervoltage threshold, triggering a protection cutoff. This is distinct from a simple low-battery shutdown; the pack may read as charged at rest but sag under load. Check that the battery is fully seated with no debris on the contact pins, then run one complete charge cycle in the base station. If cutouts persist after a full cycle, measure resting cell voltage — it should read at or above 14.4V before use.

The base station shows a solid charge light but the speaker dies quickly after lifting it off — why?

A solid charge indicator confirms the base station made contact with the pack, but it does not confirm the cell completed a full cycle. A pack that arrives at storage voltage can trigger the charge LED within minutes without actually reaching full capacity. Place the speaker back in the base and leave it for a minimum of three hours for a genuine full charge. After that first complete cycle the battery indicator on the LSP 500 Pro will track state-of-charge accurately.

The LSP 500 Pro gets noticeably warm during long playback sessions — is that normal with the new battery?

The LSP 500 Pro houses the amplifier, wireless module, and battery in a compact enclosure, so some warmth during sustained high-volume playback is expected. What is not normal is heat concentrated specifically at the battery bay rather than the amplifier housing, which would suggest the cell is under higher resistive load than it should be — often a contact or BMS issue. Check that the battery contacts are clean and that the pack is fully clicked into place. If the battery bay stays cool but the amplifier area is warm, that is the normal thermal pattern for this class of device.
